Does anyone know the thread of the bleed nipples?
When I was bleeding my brakes recently I noticed that one of the rears never had a hole in it for some reason.
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Car's booked in again this Friday to get a wee tweek to the suspension set up to help with the slight understeer on exit and the rubbing on the rear. Might put the rear platforms in but the Kenny Brown is dead against it. He thinks its to high at the rear as it is.
I'll...
Just read about your wheel nearly coming off at knockhill. Mine did that on Saturday and I am looking into stud conversions. Where did you get it done and can you show me any pics of your hubs now.
Cracking read this thread and great looking car.
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
I'm going to torque them up after every session next Monday now that I know it is an issue. To be honest it is something that I hadn't even thought would be an issue.
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Not yet, I cant seem to work out where I'm going wrong. The black plug on my car doesn't seem to have the same wiring as the one you had. Is the one you were showing for side airbags?
I'm going to have a good play with it at the weekend as the lights are starting to...
Don't know if I could do the wiring stuff. Think I'd get bored and start cutting the wrong cables.
As above, are you working to wiring diagrams or off the cuff?
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
It was a really good day and lots to look at when the car was cooling down.
Had the rears on soft setting for my first session but there was one corner that the rear kept trying to overtake me. Went in put it to hardest and put the front up a bit and it felt a lot...
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
I have already sanded off the powder from the hub mating face of the wheel as I thought that might be an issue.
Always wondered why some cars have studs and some bolts. Think I know now.
Anyone else done a stud conversion on their hubs? Is it quite straight forward...
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Might raise the rear a bit then by using the rear platforms and see how it goes.
A few pics of the AST top mounts and rear set up:
and howe the car sits:
My workshop in the knockhill Pitlane:
Is it definitely a puncture as I have had to repair 2 wheels lately for corrosion on the inside of the wheel causnig it to leak.
Get it repaired either way.
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
I'm looking into stud conversions as this should not suffer the same heat issues as the bolts will.
Not good losing a wheel . Any other damage or just the brake disc? I think if I had stayed out any longer I would have lost one too.
Also cant decide if the rear...
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Got the car on track at knockhill on Saturday and what a day it was!
Time Attack was being held there the following day so lots of nice cars which I'll get pics posted shortly.
The Clio did well after a spin on my first lap. Oops! Came back in to the pits, stiffened...
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Cheers guys. Told them to remove them and all seems ok. Hopefully be ok on track but I cant understand why kw make them so high at back. If they are adjustable you would expect to start really low to very high, not normal to very high?
Thanks Tom, look forward to getting...
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
I'm getting the KW V2's fitted today for a track day tomorrow but the garage phoned there to say that they can't get the back low enough.
Is there anyway round this? Can the rear adjusters be removed completely? :S
Any help appreciated as I need this completed this...
Just heard from the garage who are fitting my KW's today and they are saying they cant get the back low enough. Is this the only way to do it by removing the adjuster? Is it safe enough?
Wheel looks the dogs bangly bits. Cant wait for my name to get to the top of the list!
Hope you get your wiring issues sorted as I can imagine it could be quite embarassing.
How do A048's perform in the wet? Might be raining on Saturday for a track day I'm going to and want to use them on track over the PE2's as one is dodgy.
Just bought a set of genuine OEM rear discs with bearings for £92 delivered whic is about 45% cheaper than a main dealer.
Std pads an be got at any motor factors.
Order should be drivers rear, passenger front, passenger rear, drivers front in that order. Sounds like you are getting air in when pumping the pedal. When I get the mrs to press the brake pedal I always tell her to count to 3 on the way down and then the same on the way back up. If you go too...
