Had enough of black paintwork after this week!
First car is a guy from works MG ZR, he'd been respraying his wheels in the garage and all the overspray had landed over the bonnet/windscreen/wings so he brought it round to sort that out and give it a bit of shine back. The paintwork on the front...
Hi all
Haven't had a project thread on here for any of my cars so thought I'd do one for the car that's been around longest.
I bought the car just after passing my test and it was used as my everyday car up until last year when I got a 172. I found it listed on ebay as a 1.6 rsi but as we all...
Morning!
I have a rather steady leak coming from what I think is the waterpump area on my ph2 172, so I need to get this sorted asap.
How difficult is this job to do at home?
How much should I be looking to pay to take it somewhere?
Is there a garage around Kent recommended for such a job...
Not long bought a 172 and its developed a plastic/rubbery burning smell from under the bonnet on the drivers side, it smells very strongly sometimes and other times I don't notice it. Driving home earlier with wipers/de-mist/lights etc on and a red 'Stop' and battery light flashed up on the...
A friend of the family asked me if I could have a go at tidying up her other halves car as it had some deep scratches on the bonnet and as its a learner car it had also seen its fair share of bushes down the sides. He had no idea where the deeper scratches came from and some I could only make...
With the mot looming in a few months and the car needing quite a bit of work to pass, I thought it was time I finally got something a bit newer for a daily drive. Had it for almost 6 years now I believe, it was my first car and its been such a fun car but I needed something better on fuel and...
With our first trackday of the year booked for august it was time to bring the car home from storage for some work and a good clean. The car had been stored (outside on a farm) since September last year so as you can imagine it was pretty filthy. The plan was to get it done over a few days and...
Picked up some DemonShine Rapid Dirt Shifter yesterday so thought I'd do a little comparison of the the two pre wash sprays I have in my collection. So its Rapid Dirt Shifter vs AF Citrus Power.
Price
I bought the 1litre bottle of citrus power which goes for around £10 from most sites. The RDS...
Sorry if this is the wrong section for this. Need to get this tripod joint of the driveshaft to fit a new inner cv boot but have never seen one held on like this before (only ever seen a circlip used) how do i remove it?
Thanks
After the long winter it was finally time to give the clio its spring clean, this took place over a few nice days of sun. The car wasnt in a major state but had a good layer of dirt and salt on it and the wheels were shocking, the paintwork is pretty decent as it was corrected last year except...
Have been getting into detailing a bit more over the last year, mainly to do my own cars as theyre both old and the paintwork isnt the best. But this week i have been doing one of my mums friends cars after she saw what id managed with our track car below.
She said she was happy for me to...
Did our second ever trackday on saturday at bedford on their SEN circuit. Was a great day with great weather considering what the week was like, were lots of cars there for the morning and afternoon sessions plus a few all day guys like us but we still managed a hell of a lot of track time with...
Evening
Got the track car sorted a few weeks ago so booked up an open pit evening session at brands for yesterday, having never been on track before and not knowing how the car drives we thought it wise not to go too far. Did the 2 sighting laps (wearing the new pads in) as passenger to my dad...
Weather was great yesterday so finally got round to giving the clio a good polish with my new DA. Didnt take any 50/50 shots but the paintwork was heavily swirled and the drivers side had some large scratches from a brush down a bush one day. All pics also taken on a phone so not great.
Process...
Was undoing all the cam carrier? bolts on my soon to be fitted head and this happened....
Brilliant! Was only using a small bar instead of a ratchet handle (same sorta size) and bam clean off.
Any ideas how i can get this out? Drill? need the head off asap as its being fitted in january.
Thanks...
