    Bilstein B14 best setup

I'm fitting a set of Bilstein B14s this weekend and wondered if anyone had a good recommendation for what height to run a car at. I'm taking the car (it's sat on 16in Speedline Turinis) on track next month but most of its life is spent on B-roads, so I'm looking for a good fast road setup (so...

Yozza - adding a centre section silencer

I'm wanting to lower the volume of my 182's Yozzsport cat back exhaust system because I'm getting old. My question is has anyone ever welded in a silencer to the centre section of the original Yozza exhaust system? If yes, how does it affect the volume and tone? I'm assuming such a mod would...

Resistors - Service and airbag light related

I've been reading the sticky for how to switch the airbag and SERV light off when you've removed your driver's airbag. Can someone confirm, is this 4.3K ohm resistor the same as 4.3 ohm (which is what is recommended on cliosport)? Sorry for the noob question, but I can't find an answer anywhere.

    Black Sheep flocking - I've lost £130

Has anyone else lost money with Black Sheep Flocking, the company that used to flock interior parts before it folded earlier this year? I'd dealt with them before and bought about £20 worth of bits which were great. Saw their work with dash tops on here so sent my dash top to them along with...

Slight misfire - not leads, plugs or coil pack...

So my car appears to have a slight misfire on cylinder 2 (by slight, I mean that it appears to be firing weakly). I changed the plugs, coil pack and leads but the problem didn't go away. Then oddly, according to my OBD2 reader the misfire shifted to cylinder 3, before shifting back to cylinder 2...

    5.25-inch speakers better than 6.5-inch?

So this is an absolute noob question and I apologise in advance for how stupid I must sound but... I've bought an old Mk3 facelift Polo as a commute car to keep the miles down on the 182. The car's front speakers were blown, and i was given a pair of these for free by a friend as a temporary...

    Seatbelt pretensioner mount

I've recently bought Sparco R100 seats and OMP subframes, and was wondering how people mount the seatbelt pretensioner to the subframe. To confirm, my seats are mounted on rails and will need to slide forwards and back. I came across this old thread...

    Induction kit issues

I've recently fitted Ktec's induction kit. Initial thoughts are it's fantastic. It sounds mega on full throttle and looks tidy in the engine bay. I'd even say it's sharpened up throttle response. But after a few days I've started to notice that the top end of the rev-band feels a little...

    Brake issues

My brakes have been fairly useless for several months now. Initial bite is good, but any heavy stops and they're rubbish. The pedal has feel and isn't to the floor, though it does seem a little spongy with very heavy pressure. The servo seems to be holding its vacuum as it only hisses when the...

My video review of the MG 3 vs Skoda Citigo

Another video I've been working on this week features the MG 3 and Skoda Citigo. Hopefully a much more polished product than all that other rubbish I've been making! Still, it's far from perfect as I am in no way a cameraman/videographer, I'm only concerned with the reviewing bit. But as a...

Rare brake master cylinder fitted to my 182?

My local Renault dealer reckons the brake master cylinder fitted to my car is rare and can only be sourced from abroad. As a result, he thinks it could take up to two weeks to source the part! Since my car is my daily, this is a slight issue.. The reason for the lengthy waiting time...

My Suzuki Swift Sport Video Review

Some of you may have seen that I'm an aspiring motoring journo. I'm currently working as a writer, contributing to Car Throttle and Evo amongst other places, but online video is the route I want to take. I've been testing a Suzuki Swift Sport for the week and if I'm honest, I love it. It almost...

    Car Videos & Your Opinions

Many of us enjoy watching car videos, things like Chris Harris On Cars, Evo TV, Car Throttle etc. As people with an interest in cars, we all have a wide range of YouTube channels to choose from when watching a car review. I'm hoping to find out which channel you choose and why. So I ask...

    Dephaser Pully Locked?

Does anyone know if a new dephaser pully unit comes locked in position? My 182's due a cam and aux belt change and the dephaser sounds like it's on its way out, so wondered if it would be possible to change both, using the new dephaser's locked position to ensure timing is right? Sam

    Rear right caliper issue

My 182's rear right brake doesn't seem to be working properly. My brake pedal feels a little spongey so we changed the fluid but this didn't fix it. The car was due a rear pad and disc change so we changed these and both rear calipers, rear lines (direct into caliper part) and also fitted...

Rear caliper appearing to not work

I've just had new discs, pads, calipers fitted to the rear of my 182 and new brake fluid, all genuine OEM parts. After giving them a day's worth of bedding in - normal driving and then an afternoon of some more spirited stuff - they feel as though they stop better but the pedal still feels a...

Order of wires on rain sensor

Just in the process of fixing my rain/light sensor on the windscreen. I've pulled the wires out to check connections but have managed to jumble them up. Which order do they sit in the sensor? There's a pink, black and yellow wire. Just to confirm, these are the wires that poke out of the...

Brand new Mk2 Clio review! (Well, not quite..)

So some of you may know I'm an aspiring motoring writer, and I've not delved into the world of press cars. We all have to start somewhere, and in my case it was with the UK's cheapest new car, the Dacia Sandero. Based on the Mk2 Clio platform, I thought you guys/girls might be interested in...

How to become a boy racer video

So for my next uni portfolio I wanted to include a fun video. This 'How to become a boy racer' video was created with massive inspiration from CarThrottle (the portfolio requires me to target each piece to a publication/website etc). We filmed it all in about 1.5 hours so it's missing quite a...

    Clio video help

So I'm doing a bit of work at CarThrottle over Xmas, and of course I've somehow also donated my car to be featured in the upcoming '10 things you didn't know about the Clio 182' video. I've been given the task to think of 10 things that non 182/172 owners wouldn't know about the car, so...

    My Clio 182 Review

This video is really just me having a bit of fun, whilst also practising the art of online video. I decided to review my own car first before I step into the world of press cars. Please excuse my constant fumbling and 90s style video humour, the video was made on a serious budget with serious...

My Clio Renaultsport 200 Turbo review..

I'm currently an aspiring automotive writer doing some freelance stuff and studying for an MA. But since I am hoping to enter the industry as a road tester, I figured I should start getting behind the wheel of some new cars. Of course, one of the most obvious places to start is in an area I...

    RB 182 Coventry Uni

Saw a lovely Racing Blue 182 lowered on white wheels parked under the ring road bridge, next to Coventry University this morning. I live literally a 5 walk from there with my RB (which looks slightly less immaculate) Anyone on here?

    Camber Settings: These OK?

Today I went to get a 4 wheel alignment done on the 182 as it'd been 2 track days and 10,000 miles since the last one. All seems well with the results according to the garage, but I can't help but feeling the camber is a bit far off? I'm assuming this is something the garage can't adjust, is...

    Rear braided lines

I've been running front braided lines for almost a year now, along with a fluid change the brakes were massively improved in feel. I occasionally do track days and drive the car pretty hard, particularly on the brakes - I use DS3000 track pads and high performance Dot 4 fluid when on track and...

RB 182 White Turinis in Cockfosters

Spotted a couple of days ago, an RB 182, White Turinis (non Cup ones), and white roll cage from what I could see. I had been the only RB in the area so this stood out to me! Anyone on here? *lol on the blanking out of the area name

Top 10 Sports Cars For Less Than An M3

I'm currently working on my writing skills to build up my portfolio to hopefully one day work as an Automotive Journalist. One of the websites I'm currently writing for, has requested that I write a piece that lists the Top 10 Sports cars available for less than an M3 in the UK. An M3 is...

My first proper blog post, on an award winning site!

So I've been toying with the idea of becoming an automotive writer for some time now. Having graduated from Leeds Uni last summer, I've been working in sales to earn some quick dosh, but throughout I've been thinking of doing a masters in Automotive Journalism at Coventry Uni. In order to 'dip...
