It wasnt me, but I did spot an Inferno 182 yesterday going through kirkby mallory, also some guy in a silver 172 or 182 followed me out of Barwell monday morning along the perimeter road.
Spotted various cars today around Atherstone on the A5, spotted a 172 exclusive heading towards tamworth. Spotted a blue 182 the other way, and a silver 182 on the roundabout.
I should have worded it better, you pull the whole lot forward. So the black mount buffer needs to be moved forward as far as it will go with the bolts loose.
The grey sensor is the air temp sensor iirc. Is it a 172mk1 or mk2, the mk1 has a 24mm arb, but the ends pieces are 23mm. Im not sure if the mk2 is the same.
Its really frustrating that renault never learn from their design flaws/picking poor quality materials, the 172ph1, 172ph2, 182 and now 197 all had this problem. Also it must be 10X worse in warmer countries..
Theres lots of threads about this, you can try using cable ties to support the mount. You can try replacing the mid mount to give the rear more support. Or you can try inserting pieces of hose pipe or something else into the rubber holes in the mount to push the exhaust up.

Since writing this ive found some earlier cars dont have the provisions for the fuse to be added in the fuse box.
Thats bad luck dude, but at least you were not hurt. Its seems so sad when another 172ph1 is broken up. Are you saying your tyres were fucked before the crash, did you not notice this??
As above, visual inspection of the belts. Also on the other end of the block, see if there are scratches around the cam seals where they have been prized off.
No the twin barrel can have 1 or 2 sensors, easiest thing is to jack the car up and if theres a sensor just after the cat, it should be the longer type (same exhaust as a ph2).

Since writing this guide some very early mk2ph1s dont have the provisions for the extra fuse needed.
The last 3 digits will depend on year/batch etc as the engine was slightly changed several times. However I would have thought the bottom ends will be the same.
