On my old Clio I cc'd the foglight holdings, mirrors and side strip myself. The bumpers were done by my mates dad. All I can say is try and get the paint from a bodyshop as my old car which was Monaco blue, there was about 8 different shades of it. Monaco blue bought from Halfords didnt match...
Id try ringing there number first thing tomoz and send emails/pms to get hold of Matt first. You can take legal action and perhaps threaten it but only as a last resort. Was the engine brand new on a pallet or was it 2nd hand with mileage?
If it was me id buy a nice little 172mk1 and use the cash left over from your 58plate for the insurance and set any aside for maintenance. Thats what Id do, infact thats what I did.
If you really want a 1.6 they came in Dynamique, Initiale and Privilege. They are insurance group 8, the...
Its a tricky situation if you ask me, have you tried contacting matt since to remind him?? Ive ordered a part from him before which was faulty (which they wouldnt have know as such), they soon sorted it and sent a replacement no questions asked.
Have you heard the noise yourself, does it come...
Have you tried ringing there customer services on 01254 386661. The trouble is because the engine has been stored for a while, i know they do warrant the parts but not sure for how long.
To get the RS bumper on the front you'll need the grille, arch linings, matching wings and matching sideskirts. Or you can pay to get the front bumper "molded" into the shape and blend in with your current wings. With the wider wings youll proably also need spacers on the front wheels to make...
You can get second hand calipers and if they are poor condition you can get a repair kit. My mate sells them on his website, try www.biggred.co.uk . These calipers are also used on a lot of citroens and peugots.
It sounds like it, you dont need to do that, the brake fluid in the resorvoir needs to be kept above the min line when bleeding. All the old fluid gets pumped through and out the system while topping up the res with the new fluid.
If youve got air in the abs unit it will be almost impossible...
Chances are its the wheels. Hit any potholes recently?? If one is buckled even slightly it will still balance at the tyre place on the machine but vibrate at certain speeds.
What do you need to know? The front brakes are Lucas calipers same from a Laguna, the discs are 280mm, internally vented, the pads will be the Renault ones unless theyve been changed. The rears are Bendix/Bosch calipers same used on most citroens and Peugeots. The rears are 238mm.
This depends on how adjustable they are and what one you get but coilovers designed for a 1.2 may not be rated or will be hard to adjust for a 172. The 172 is a lot heavier at the front, so for example if the coilovers will go down 60mm for a 1.2, they will probably go down 80mm on a 172.
Its recommended you do. Its not critical if you dont though. On the 172mk1 the gasket between the throttle housing and the inlet plenum normally falls apart.
For comparison this is the gap and where it should be on the standard mounts. Can anyone confirm if the dogebone mount on the Kangoo is compatable with the 172ph1 or ph2??
Waste of money just getting the cambelt done, the aux belt has to come off to do the cambelt and should be replaced every 36k or 5 years. The aux belts tend to go rather than the cambelts, if it snaps or a tensioner fails the belt normally wraps itself round the bottom of the cambelt, jams and...
