Not a bad first attempt at all mate, probably like the last one the best.
try and get the model to stand so she is at 90 degrees to you this really reduces the wide appearance of the 'square on'
I've been experimenting with off camera flash a lot lately and it really adds some contrast to the...
The relationship between you and the 'model' is far more important than f stops.
The more relaxed she is the better results you will get, have you looked at poses and clean uncluttered backgrounds? If not these are very important. Try and find her best side not square onto camera, shoulders at...
I've spoken with jenic and he has agreed I can change my entry as I didn't realise this was taken in June!

LOl I'd probably say go for neither ;)
The 600d is nothing to write home about and the Sony A58 is a strange model which doesn't fit the regular entry/mid level/prosumer range of any camera manufacturer. If your starting out I'd look at Nikon models ("as well") especially the 5100/5200.

best thing you could do is switch the mode dial to green and blast away. When you start to find this a limitation then begin to experiment/read up as to the effect you are trying to achieve.
Wouldn't a D600 be a better choice mate? Prices are really coming down, 5d mk2 is barely an improvement on the d7000 in ISO, only half a stop and 2 stops less dynamic range than your current camera.
Yes the fuji system is stunning, I do love its retro looks and of course you still get the same great EVF.
I'll pass if they are on ebay as its stupid money! I sold My A65 for £450 and then bought an A77 for £500 elsewhere!
IIRC planet x underexposes his shots for the moody skies and pulls back some detail in raw.
Pretty chuffed to see myself representing London here, was asked via flickr to sign up, my shots on their homepage

So I can still retain my pro account by renewing it when it expires?
On another note I wonder if this is linked to their 3 free months extra at Xmas in anyway?
I don't think a fair price comparison could be made but don't forget that its only really in the last few years that digital quality surpassed film.
Just because its film doesn't mean it's poor, how do you think we managed back in the day ;)
^^Could be great with the milkyway behind it!
