best thing you could do is switch the mode dial to green and blast away. When you start to find this a limitation then begin to experiment/read up as to the effect you are trying to achieve.

Nice capture of the stars, I prefer the first shot, with scouting out some more interesting foreground for your next attempt but do it in daylight!!

Wouldn't a D600 be a better choice mate? Prices are really coming down, 5d mk2 is barely an improvement on the d7000 in ISO, only half a stop and 2 stops less dynamic range than your current camera.

Yes the fuji system is stunning, I do love its retro looks and of course you still get the same great EVF. I'll pass if they are on ebay as its stupid money! I sold My A65 for £450 and then bought an A77 for £500 elsewhere!

I don't think a fair price comparison could be made but don't forget that its only really in the last few years that digital quality surpassed film. Just because its film doesn't mean it's poor, how do you think we managed back in the day ;)
