Anyone apart from Dial Direct in my experience - horrid company - I went with them as they were cheapest on a price comparison! I can only imagine how bad they would be if you had a crash!
Imo if you buy one that's fairly well looked after they only really require minimum servicing and repairs, especially as a 2nd car so even using a good mechanic they can be cheap to look after and enjoy
Run a 1.6 16v engine and gearbox, CLIO 1.6 16v engine wiring loom and ECU, this will connect to the 1.2 Clio interior loom at the bulkhead and run the matching UCH from the 1.6 ECU and key (sorry I have no experience with decoded ecus etc)
your car should have these dials or similar with the...
Converting a Clio 1.2 to a 1.6 using the parts from a Clio 1.6 is easy, and because its so easy there is no need to be trying to make it hard by using a megane.
By all means use the megane engine if you already have it but get an ECU, UCH and key from a clio 1.6
Given your car is effectively a...
The worst ever daily driver I've ever owned. I recon an Elise would be nicer to live with, when it has the cup chassis anyway. Most fun car I've owned though!
you can absolutely daily drive one but they do feel their age now compared to a modern daily of course, I prefer something turbocharged for a daily driver now
Red Alert 2 and Unreal Tournament 2004 are my go to games from back in the day.
Built my 5yr old wee girl a Raspberry pi emulator and she's loving megadrive games ATM sonic II
You can swap the pulley its a clutch pulley on them and when they fail it causes a squeaking sound. i done one on mine a few years ago and it cured it, needed a special alternator clutch pulley tool to do it though.
We look after one of these for a customer at work, its on 160k and gets hammered everywhere and its been flawless other than wear and tear! even at those miles.
Just fitted a non res scorpion and it sounds fantastic, quiet enough you could live with it all day long but a nice note on boost...
There was a thread on here a while ago about building a "genuine 300hp turbo 182" and the OP said that he found the box to be too log ratios under 300hp but perfect over that if I remember right
Couple of little odds and ends to tidy it up today...
Genuine Citroen Ariel, number plate lamps, battery clamp, bonnet stay clip, washer bottle cap and fuel filter strap!
fitted the new bonnet stay clip (the hardest part of the day was removing this lol!
Fitted the new battery clamp, i was...
Ditch the HPAS for EPAS, Decat, ktec style intake, RSTuner 98ron map, that along with the 182 manifold and matched inlets is the spec I'm running on the van and it tears through the revs like no other 172/182 ive owned!
never really owned the one car more than a couple of years as I enjoy the tidying up bit more so I keep getting them mint then selling them lol must have had 30+ of the things but tbh the van will be with me forever probably, just due to the fact its pretty worthless and has so many hours into...
Not had much time to do anything with this so its just been tucked away but I took it to work today and gave it a fresh Oil filter, oil, air filter, fuel filter, and NGK plugs - and as a bonus found a fully stamped up service book in the glovebox! I've ordered a timing belt kit and water pump...
we were exactly the same that's why we tried one over the equivalent diesel as there was quite a jump in cost between the 2! Do you find it horribly un refined to drive too?
The last time I sold a 182 it went to Ireland, Lad flew to Edinburgh airport, I picked him up, had a look round the car, all good, he drove to the ferry and away it went, probably the easiest sale I've had tbh! I know things are different with what's going on in the world etc but that's probably...
