I should have said that actually good point, Ive swapped all the relays from my van and confirmed they are all ok, as are all the fuses. Checked the usual culprit, the big white connector too, good as new!
My ph1 172 has developed a starting issue.
When I put the key in turn it on, everything lights up as it should, immobiliser light goes out as it should, turn it to start and nothing happens, not even a click like you get with a flat battery or dodgy earth.
I've confirmed the battery is good...
Find a garage that will fit the 2ns hand engine. Most will probably ask you to source it yourself so it's your issue if there is any problems but I've fitted tons and never had an issue.
Has he ran it low on coolant and cooked it? They are a fairly reliable engine so I find it hard to believe...
Cheers mate, maybe just coincidence for me and obviously not a problem for you but it didn't do it when I got the car and the sunroof started leaking and flooded the car so I believe that's around the time it started but I don't use it enough to know for sure. It's since been sealed and all...
PS4 on everything for me apart from the ClioVan which runs AD08RS and my little 1.2 8v which runs some midrange Hankook ventus which cost more than the car. my 197 doesn't seem to bother if its wet or dry, I cant drive fast enough on the road to unsettle it!

I think the problem is always going to be relying on someone else/garage. firstly because the cost of labour probably makes it uneconomical and secondly because, well finding someone reliable isn't always easy
Id say, as dan said get it into storage long term and attack it yourself, everything...
Only issues we've had is the auto full beam having a mind of its own, it either blinds everyone or doesn't work. And the reversing camera is unacceptably bad!
