Whoops yeah sorry i somehow assumed it was just the gaitors. Renault used to do an exchange basis on the driveshafts where you'd get money back from your old ones (assume they went away to be re-manufactured).

Is this at Renault!!! They sell a gaitor repair kit, which consists of new gaitor, clips and grease. Each side is about £18.00 each.

Theres some bolts behind the wheel arch lining. Remove the arches to get to them. Theres also 2 bolts under radiator holding the splash guard in.

You might get away with it. The offset of 172 wheels is around that and people fit them to 1.2s. If they dont then 3mm spacer will be fine to bring them out a bit.

The torx bolts that hold the heatshield are a b**ch. I had to buy some torx keys that fitted in my torque wrench to get mine off.

IIRC to wind it back in its clockwise. As above make sure the pads are the right way round.

It shouldnt happen, try a new sleeve as they are normally pretty strong.

Have you checked the TDC sensor, starting problems are normally caused by this. Take it off and give it a good clean and see what happens. Do a search for the guide.

Do you plan to keep the car off the road? I think you only need to declare sorn when you next renew your tax or decide to claim money back from tax. Not 100% on that

£20!!!! Try another dealer, some let you have it for free. If not there maybe someone on here who works for renault that can get it for you. I think renault use a online based system to get them.

To help prevent it from popping it out get some string round the shaft and tie to the car.
