Its a lot easier on a 172 than a 182 though. On a 182 its a big old thing and the subframe has to drop quite low.

Its a common problem, mine does it and Id like to know the answer too. Ive tried greasing the slider rail and it still does it.

You need to trick the wiring into thinking the airbag is there. Do a search, I think some fit a resistor??

Once youve done all of the above for best results polish it with autosol.

As above, I think with a bit of jiggling about you can get away with doing it without touching the subframe (from memory). When refitting the sump, tighten all the bolts to 8NM, then tighten them to approx 13NM in the correct order working out from the middle rear. See below

How quick did the TCE feel?? Was it a big difference from the normal 1.2??

The badge itself unclips from the side molding. Any other from a mk2ph1 would fit. e.g. 1.2 or RN or Liberte.

My brothers 1.2 8v authentique has 52mm spacing, looking at that pic id say its dead on 52.

Ive managed to get a bearing out of a drum, it destroyed the bearing though. I used a old 30mm socket a piece of wood that was just the right size and a vice clamp. Used the same method to press the new one in. I wouldnt recommend it though.

They will fit fine, not only can you leave the rings on there will just be no sensor that uses them but you can prob slide them off anyway. £37 with bearing in is a bargain.

Not sure what you mean?? There is part of the shield on the driver side shaft near where it goes into the box that goes over the shaft, but if this was loose you'd hear it banging/vibrating.

Assuming its the front the abs rings are pressed onto the driveshaft. Renault will tell you that you need to order a new shaft but on some models the rings can be ordered seperatly and fitted.

8v or 16v?? The 1.2 8v is completly different. Its the only clio that has an exhaust with 1 silencer.

Should the lambda sensor have a washer on it??? The one in question is the pre cat on a 172mk1.
