Cold rear tyres and shot rear dampers would be my guess. The rear is very unpredictable and horrible when the rear dampers are gone. They won't always have oil leaking down them either so don't assume they are all good because there is no sign of leaks
definitely, but I suppose the key is the experience of having done a load of them and having the space and tools to do it. My Clio conversion took me the best part of 6 months by the time I got it on the road. Doing a few hours a night and the odd weekend, sourcing parts etc but that was...
not start to finish but I've helped finish one off that was already done, and done other similar conversions. Its on my wish list to build one maybe this winter
i dont own a valver but assume you can fit 195/50/15 on those wheels? set of Michelin Pilot Sport 3 would do lovely on it! Tyre performance has come on a lot in the last 20 years so it would transform a valver!
Thats lovely BTW! interested if it goes up for sale lol
Ive got to say I've had this out almost every dry day after work.
In all my days of driving 172/182 I've never had so much fun as I do in this.
It's comedy as when your in a genuine 182 the young lads in the slow cars leave you alone and the boys in the golf R's bully you. But in this, tip it...
I've not done it before but they look the same externally to me except the starter motor is on the front on the jb1 and rear in jb3. I would take a good guess that you can use the current shafts
I will own a kei car at some point, I must!!!
However, as cool as I feel they are, I bet in reality they are pretty garbage lol

I don't have any experience with aftermarket seats so can't give an opinion.
I've removed the spacers that go between the seat and carpet on the standard seats and dropped the seats a few mm, feels much nicer!
I was never that impressed by the seats in my trophy, they looked nice but I found they were no more supportive than the standard seats, which are also cumfier. I never found they sat any lower, at least not enough that it was noticeable.
They will tramline on full throttle on the 16s over rough surfaces but not in a way that feels in natural or takes away from the drive.
If it's wandering about the road, assuming the basics like good quality tyres and tyre pressures are all ok then have a look at the track rod ends and inner...
My mate had this issue on his twingo with the same ARB using the recommended part number. I ordered a different part number from him and they were perfect. They listed I think 3x part numbers for the 172/182 when they all use the same ARB! Unfortunately I don't remember what the part no was 😂
Following! I've had an itch for one for a few years and never had the balls to do it.
All the people building them, loving them then selling them a few months later with no explanation why always plays in the back of my mind. But there does now appear to be a few long term owners now that it's...
Yeah tuition is a fantastic idea and worth more than any mod!
I've known standard dampers to be shot after a few years depending on conditions and use and springs so it's worth looking at. For a dedicated track car there will be better options I'm sure for replacements but the stock ones are...
Remember bodyroll isn't the devil. While it's not a race car the 182 out the box makes a good fun track car, more so with a set of springs such as the ebachs you have fitted.
How old are the dampers?
A lot of People buy their desired car as a track car then spend thousands on mods having done...
I've got the little 063 which was smaller than what it originally had, its the cheapest the motor factors listed too, none of the fancy yuasa stuff. Starts fine when its been sitting for a few weeks, powers the xenons fine etc AND everyone told me you need to connect a charger when bleeding the...
