Just raise the engine up on it's engine mount and put something solid under the mount to hold it up.
Should give you the clearance to do it.

You actually don't want 100% grip, you need it to slip a bit and get the wheel speed up otherwise it'll bog down like you say.

Was there all weekend myself. I know Gino with the red Mk1 Escort which is also YB powered on methanol.
Had a few issues though getting it to spool on the line, need to play about with the bump box settings more.
There again this weekend for the main event.
They'd probably work, but obviously they were designed to be used with a Rupes machine.
I know Jim from WhiteDetails uses the Meg's type ones. Lake Country do a similar microfibre pad too.
What about changing it for both sessions.
By that I mean run both layouts for the morning and then both layouts for the afternoon.
Or is that too much work?
