PM Giles he has experience in this, it woulnt be too much trouble getting some rings made up though. Ive seen it done before. Although some of the dci's did come with disk brakes.
I take it you mean the bit you remove so you can change the pollen filter? No idea what they are called but Halfords sell a little box of them for about £1.
Would the clutch still engage/clunk if there was no gas in the system? My system was de-gassed while I changed my radiator but since it doesnt clunk when switching it on. Didnt want to waste money on re-gassing if is nackered.
I dont understand how these bolts work. I wouldnt use them. Although the offset of the clios wheels will be about right the centre bore wouldnt match but would fit.
The standard rubber ones are not too bad, I would imagine the poly bushes would be a nightmare to fit as you even have to heat the rubber ones to fit them in properly.
Take it back to where it was done and get them to have a look. Did they change the tensioners, the aux belt and the tenisionor on that aswell?
The tensioners/rollers are just as important as the belts.
The outer (hub end) gaitor kit is 7701469021 about £10. The inner (gearbox end) gaitor kit is 7701470566 about £35. The bot come complete with clips, grease etc.
Not sure about the drivers side as never done one, but to remove the shaft your going to have to drain the oil from the box. You can take it to a place that can remanufacture the driveshaft for you, strip it down, replace joints, rebuild with new gaitors and clips. I know a place in worcestor...
Thats what I was trying to say if you squeeze it together the mount wont sit flat on the frame and the holes probably wont line up. Or you will bolt it down and it will bend open again.
Just needs some rubber wedged into the gap.
Id say its completly normal, it's torque steer. Its a good sign the engine is still pulling strong, Ive test drove 172s that didnt feel as fast and didnt torque steer. If it is really bad/uncontrolable then check the driveshafts and engine mounts first.
"Torque steering is the influence of...
I created a guide as seem to get lots of pm's about this:

Had to do it from memory as did the conversion about 2 years ago!
The aux belt is the one you can see it takes the drive from the engine and turns the alternator and the power steering pump. On the E7J there is 2 aux belts and 2 rollers, one belt for the pump and the other for the alternator. If they are fraying, making a noise get them changed asap, have they...
^Good question, I doubt you would be able to squeeze it together, probably more easier to pack something rubber down the gap, although Renault must have had it this way for a reason but its worth a try.
One of the best things about the Rsi's is the wheels, I must be the only person that likes them, Id have them myself if they fitted around the 172s brakes.
