Uprated lower engine mount???

  Sunflower 172 :)
hey there im thinking about uprating my lower engine mount as mine is on its way out. does any1 have an omp lower engine mount fitted to there car and do they find it anydifferent? my mate has 1 on his 106 and gets alot of vibration back through his steeing wheel will this happen on mine? cheers

not sure if they do them for the 172, ive just replaced all 3 of mine with OEM mounts which cost around £80 ish from Euro Car Parts

  Lots of Alfas
As above powerflex do them but they are too stiff and cause more stress on the other mounts. Your probably better off getting a standard one. There is someone else that does a modified one but I cant remember who? Was it GDI?

  Cup Turbo, Flamer
As said above, they cause the other mounts to fail as the lower one is so stiff, best getting a standard one me things

I have a Powerflex one from K-tec, works really well in my opinion. Better gearshifts and much less engine movment. It does vibrate alot though, even more so with the A/C on!

As I've alwasy said stock is the best unless you accept the issues with uprated ones and IMo its not worth it.

ive changed all mine for stock ones and they are best imo aswel, but i had changed my dog bone one from the ph1 standard one to a ph2 twisted type and the bush popped out within 4 months - too much abuse aparantly lol

Its been mentioned before that the 172mk1 mount is superior anyway, I thought they wouldnt fit, someone said they are a different length. It might be worth someone with a mk2 trying a mk1 mount and see how they get on. ALthough the mk1 mount is about double the price of the other new from Renault.
