Thanks for following up. How did they feel from cold compared to the r888's, i.e. for grip and braking when cold? ...I'm thinking suitability for sprinting/hillclimbing as well as track day use. Cheers.
I initially used one of the inner wing (plastics) circular fixings and siliconed it on, it's a large diameter so covers well. I only had a large single hole to cover. Then touched it up for a rough paint match. I've since fiberglassed and filled as I'm about to wrap the roof myself.

Just catching up on your thread and for any ideas to steal, ahem borrow, it's looking great!
Fab news about the little'un, congratulations to you both.
Me too, I have a dedicated one with the right socket always attached and setting pre-set and I never change it. Makes things quick and easy and I'm more likely to do it. Plus I sometimes give the job to my guests on the day [emoji6]
What would be good is a sticky post which is maintained and saves having to read the whole thread (after it grows with contributions), that includes a good pre-check + inventory tick list based on people's valuable knowledge and experience.
Good start BTW, you certainly check more than I do ;)
The previous posts pretty much cover it. I started in sprinting last year and wanted to stay in road going (class a2 with list 1a tyres, class a4 with list 1b tyres), I could then mix it up if I wanted a bit of competition depending on the entrants as some of those in a4 were in Morgan's and...
Interesting this came up, as I'm about to transfer mine to a new GRP bonnet so will be going through this again.
Just take your time and as said, measure and remeasure and remeasure again. I read somewhere that placing them on the outer edges where the bonnet raises behind the headlight area...
Before I go and transfer the OEM bonnet stay to my new lightweight bonnet, do others on here have a better solution for supporting the bonnet that's lightweight/simple?
...a wooden broomstick handle is not suitable as it means I've still got to carry it around [emoji3]
Appreciate that thanks, didn't think the smaller BJ minno would cut it, but I'll give it a look now. Surprised how well trailers seem to hold their prices.
Front: Brembo HC + Pagid RS 4-2 Blues
Rear: Brembo disc and pads standard spec.
Fluid: ATE Superblue
Use: track days, sprints with R888 tyres.
I'm still fairly new and learning the car, but I'm happy with the set up so far and certainly with the cold bit for sprinting as I can't warm up the...
Must say, I've always been glad when I got some tuition on a track day, made a hell of a difference to my driving on sprints too, especially on controlling the weight distribution
To the OP, I have/had pretty much the same spec as you apart from the addition of a RARB and -2.5 front camber with rainsport 2. Once I had significant heat in them on a dry track they became useless and showed signs of melting fairly quickly. So immediately went and bought a second set of...
^^what they said. I started last year and did a few sprints (still learning the car and techniques). It's not the same cost vs track time as say a track day, but the thrill of competition is what it's all about, I love it and it's certainly addictive. I started by driving to local'ish events...
A bit of both if remember right. Followed the MSA bluebook best I could, don't remember anything specifying the distance between the crotch straps though. There's two straps so don't see the point in having them next to each other. Has never been brought up in scrutineering as yet ;)
