Thread revival but on topic. Just debating using hammerite on my new hubs due to the direct-to-rust benefit. But mine is primarily track, sprint and maybe race use in the future (not daily/road) I hear concerning things about hammerite becoming tacky or possibly flinging when too hot (after...
I'd deal with Cooksport first, might find they have a better professional relationship with AST to organise the repair.
Is there no way they can be re- threaded locally?
....exactly what I find, I use an electronic solid state cut off with a PC680 but still use a CTEK charger which does a great job at looking after the battery whilst it's locked up for days/weeks.
I used this for sprinting last year, it meets spec and looked decent enough for my needs, so I decided I didn't need to spend more. I'm happy with it, the padding is limited but looked the same as used on the next model up. Glad I went for the larger size, it's still snug but comes off with...
Haha, it's not just me having to prep for the likely interrogation.
Was looking around at those Nankangs out of interest and came across this kitcar forum thread mention some other r888 equivalent tyre they are looking to test, 'Zestino', possibly cheaper too...
Just wanted to say nice job and approach taken on your car, looks and sounds the nuts, ended up reading the whole thread. Good to see you got your box sorted in the end and now your enjoying the car, a gripper and then ASTs are on my list but other items are needed first, such as a trailer...
BTW, I went with a three way block purely due to the size of existing mega fuse and cable termination, as I didn't want to snip them off. It just squeezes in on an angle. I can dig out my parts supplier but they're fairly common components.
Here's how I did mine, connector block in original battery location, new battery behind passenger seat (although I need to relocate it further back as the passenger seat is to far forward)...
Yeah, I had that conversation with them too when they were investigating it. I'm not paying for a fix and also adding weight to the vehicle. Tbh, mines only for track/events so I'm happy with the benefits of the product as it stands, I can appreciate this being annoying for daily users though.
Anyone know if you can buy just the springs in the above pic anywhere or have a couple of spare ones, only I don't need the pins. Otherwise I'll just have to buy the kit on eBay.
Cheers
Well I missed that news until googling it right now...

My next fluid will probably be Motul RBF600.
Cooksport springs are another alternative, I've been happy with them in the same set up as above (refresh cup shocks and bushes plus whiteline arb) but will end up upgrading this year sometime as its soley track and competitive stuff really for me
