When I had my mini it was a regular thing to wave or be waved at. But nothing beats riding a motorbike and the acknowledgement by way of the nod as you pass, 99% of bikers must do it.
Andy.
I agree, get the import and save the 3k. The cars are the same (save the alarm) and there is no problem what-so-ever getting your imported car serviced in the UK. Like Daipac I doubt I will ever buy from a UK main dealer ever again

I thought I had lost him. I turned off a road early and he went past, I did a quick u-turn and pulled into my drive - and there he was right behind me. I can only think that he waited in the garage opposite to see if I went past and then spotted me (I obviously hadnt spotted him), and by then...

This is a weird one, came across a Toyota Picnic people carrier thing on my way home tonight. He was giving it some gas so I thought Id join in, I overtook him and he got really, really pissed off, driving like a lunatic to try and keep up with me. I left him for dead along one clear peice of...

Hype, exactly the same happened to me. It was identified at the dealers as being the headlamp washers leaking, and yes, they are being replaced under warranty.

Thank everyone..(esp Alex for offering to come and help) went back this morning. I stayed calm!, they sent the technician (why dont they just call them mechanics?) out to have a look at it and 20 minutes later its all fixed , apart from the cover on the ECU, that is being replaced next week when...

In fact Im about ready to kill!
The dealers had my car today (had to wait until their expert was back from his holiday) to fit a Goldshield alarm and fix my headlamp washers. They ran out of time to to both jobs so they just did the alarm "fair enough" I thought. I had a quick look at the...

However, I understand that if you trip the GATSO whilst travelling towards it on a regular occurance, you will soon find that the local plod will make much more of an effort to apprehend speeders on that particular stretch of road.
And remember although you cant get nicked on the wrong side...

1st car a 1975 Mini 850 saloon. Rolled it through a hedge and killed it after thinking I was some kind of 18 year old Paddy Hopkirk.
2nd, a 1979 Mini Clubman Estate - written off, repaired and sold.
3rd, a 1971 Triumph Herald 13/60 convertible. Wonderful car which I ran into the groud...

Just picked up my car from the dealers. They have deduced that one of my headlamp washers is leaking, thus causing the washer fluid to disappear.
I find this rather strange myself as 1) I dont think a leaking headlamp washer will empty out a full washer bottle overnight, and 2) I was pretty...

Tubs - No joy yet, although strangely the leak seems to have reduced significantly now that the weather is cooler. The dealers will think Im a right tw*t if I go in there complaining that he bottle leaks and its still 3/4 full!
CB - Interesting point, my mate is a copper Ill see if he knows...

Thanks Chaps
I filled the bottle up again yeasterday and sat and watched what happened. After about 5 minutes a small drip of water could be seen underneath the car just inboard from the front nearside wheel. I havent checked this morning yet, but I would guess that the bottle is empty again...
