Mate,
if you are just browsing the site without logging on can you have a look at your PMs?
I haven't recevied the decat yet and it been nearly a week....just want to check if you got it posted or if theres been a delay which i don't know about?
Thanks!
C'mon people - xxpected a better response than this!!
If someone would be good enough to go an measure the bore of pipe on their mk1 1.2 that would suffice?
Does anyone know if the bore of all non 16v exhaust systems is the same?
I'm think of replaceing the centre section of my 1.4 with that of 1.2 as some of those didn't have a centre box.
Thanks
I think the later RSI's used a sealant type stuff instead of a proper gasket so its possible.
Whats the milage on it?
If you're lucky its just the sump, if you're unlucky it could be the crank seal.
Hardly any isn't none tho! ;)
Comparing GTT's to NA car (say a valver) its normally the case that the valver needs less outright BHP to keep pace do the same should be true of the RSI (IMO).
Nice! :)
My m8 had one that mint in black...offered it to me for 1500 but i couldn't afford it. Now 've got the money and you can't get any up here (Aberdeen) so this is the next best thing for me;
115bhp should be as quick, if not quicker than a standard GTT. Once i get the...
Not had a GTT but next weekend i get my 1.4 campus back with an RSI engine dropped into it!
Can't wait...expecting it to be on par with my old valver speed wise. :)
I'm nae really into games but my workmate is selling one of these new nintendoo things;

JC5 is a williams box and suppossedly the strongest.
Diesel box has the wrong ratios and will kill acceleration but give good top speed.
JB1 is 1.2/RT etc...as donsrno1 said it'll probably last as long as a 16v (JB3) box.
I've just seen this.
It was me who originally bought the engine off Clio Mk1, and then exchanged it with Chris in return for some work on my old car.
Chris's skills with cars and his knowledge should not be in any doubt - he 100% knows his stuff...probably more than anyone on these forums...
Ah pity polis got there so fast :(
What i meant tho was if you had got it clear, you could have blagged a sale damaged or not. Dodgy i know but comeone has to pay and rather its someone else lol
Writeoff but you've slipped letting the insurance get hold of it.
Had it'd have been me i'd have stuck a s/h wing, indicator and door on then punted it up to the auction to flog it. Would maybe have got 300quid unless you're getting more via insurance?
I'm thinking of getting TV screen (on a motorised HU) installed in the car but all this stuff is rather new to me - can anyone tell me what i'd need (component wise) to watch tv/dvd/have sat nav in my car? Ideally i'm looking for info on
- prices
- best units
Thanks in advance!
Aye, as you said it'll be more involved as you got a MPI 1.2 and all mk1 1.4s are SPI...still easy enough tho - you'll need;
- engine,
- ecu plus ecu cage,
- loom,
- coilpack,
- 1.4/1.2 SPI downpipe and manifold etc,
- 1.4/1.2 SPI top engine mount,
+ obviously all the pipes for coolant...
Yup, you can just fit the 16v pads, discs, calipers and caliper carriers.
Volvo engine will be lighter so having a 50mm 16v spring on will probably only equate to about 40mm actually lowering. I'd stick with non-16v springs as your engine will be pretty much the same weight as a normal RSI...
Hillpower do or you could also get a new one, turn the rubber 90degrees and then pack it with silicone so its stiffer.
Alternatively, you can get a R19 16v gearbox mount which will reduce movement drastically;see http://www.renaultsport-racing.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=153
