    handbrake problem:s

    Make sure the lever that goes in to the back of the caliper moves in/out freely first, could be seized. Cable adjuster is under the the back off the handbrake, Yes, you have to take the exhaust heatsheild of to get to it. If past adjustment you may need a new cable.

    Can't see why a Spare wheel would fail the test, Many cars have Spacesavers as a spare, with different size tyres and they are not illegal. As for springs, change them all to Eibach's for £70 'ish a set, used. If you short of dosh Pug 92 is offering----and I have a set spare too.

    Skoda splitters, It's the future. My local Skoda partsman told me he sells more splitters to Clio owners than Fabia owners.:approve: For £12 it don't matter if it gets knocked off, there cheap enough. Double up on the screw fixings to get a nice smooth finish and use rustless screws of somesort.

    Deep scoring/scratching and rusting of rear brake discs

    The scoring would be caused by previously worn pads or grit/stones stuck between the pad and disc. If you are on a hefty mileage then time to change them, get them with the bearings fitted as thier time will be up as well soon, 2 jobs done for the price off 1. OE discs are as good as any.

    The OE's (Mild steel) are actually hidden behind the rear valance, Stealth type, as they call them thesedays. The huge s**tty can as you call it can easily be changed.

    If you're fitting a new wiper and arm then a dab of copper grease will stop this problem in the future.
