If i went to get a custom exhaust done and said;
"make it sound like one of http://www.aoth56.dsl.pipex.com/zorst.wmvthese;) !"
Chance would be a fine thing.
Hardly ever see other 182s out, then i see two in the same place at the same time.
Black 182, 05 plate, both cup packs.
Racing blue, reg unknowsn, both cup packs.
Both at the Gyle Centre roundabout, Edinburgh.
Both cars turned my head, nice rasp to the 182 when you hear it from...
I popped in to Renault today to drop the car off to have the infamous 182 clunk sorted (engine mount replacement) when i was looking inside the new laguna and the megane. I was quite surprised to see that the grab handles (on the ceiling of the interior above the doors) were nicely damped when...
So there i was, having a bored moment at work today mulling over throwing some cash at the 182 to take it to 200 bhp or... keep the 182 as an everyday car, since im a warranty lover and spend the £3000-£5000 i was thinking of spending on the 182 on a track day / weekend car. If it broke down, or...
...and sound absolutely amazing coupled with a 12" Vibe sub.
Totally blown away, I was sceptical as to how good they could actually be, but they are superb. Vocal reproduction is accurate and smooth, trebles are crisp but not harsh, the whole reproduction of music is so detailed in the mid...
Driving home today, im coming round a roundabout and think "whats that..." .... "holy christ, its a Clio saloon!".
Yep, a Clio saloon waiting at the roundabout - the ugliest looking car ive ever seen. Didnt even know they made one; for another country I expect (probably native to France)?
I currently own, but its not fitted at the mo, a http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=245712 Vibe active subwoofer. Its a great, deep, loud sub but its just too big for what i need/want.
Im going to have to get (at least) two sets of golf clubs in my boot at some...
Still mulling over speakers and Focal Polyglass 130V2 look the business with smashing build quality and excellent sound reproduction (if pricey at £185).
However, when looking about the web there seems to be a huge obsession that they MUST be amped for them to be any good. Question is, why...
Thinking I was buying a piece of well built kit, got the Alping 9851R headunit and stalk/display adaptors fitted this afternoon. Was a quick job, fits the dash perfectly, amber illumination looks brilliant in the dark.
I took the car for a spin and to my sheer frustration, I found the buttons...
Searched the ICE/interior forums and noticed threads on the display not working with aftermarket HUs.
My simple question is this:
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=3844This headunit, necessary adaptors - anyone know if the display still lists tracks/volumes as...
All,
(did a search, nothing conclusive)
Just looking at running the power from the battery to the boot and its not looking easy on the 182. Anyone got any tips for the most pain-free/easiest method for this? i can see a gromet in the footwell on the passenger side that looks like its maybe...
Managed to get a "rear left/right to RCA" converter from Halfrauds for £6 which will allow me to connect the amp/sub to the standard headunit, but this poses another problem - how to wire the remote on/off from the amp to the standard headunit - any ideas?
Bit stumped on this one, but ive not...
Where from / how much / is it possible?
My days of loud ice are over, but i want to get use out of the 12" Vibe ported sub fairly soon for one evening. The quickest method (without changing the head unit) would probably be to take the left and right pairs for the rear speakers and wire them...
We all know the 182 is lumpy and juddery from cold, but ive noticed that my 182 has been very lumpy the past week in the morning (not colder than usual). It actually feels like its perhaps not firing properly and performance is guff from 1000-3000 rpm (but it picks up fine afterwards)...
Dropped the car off at Renault this morn to get the central locking fixed on the 182, fixed in an hour - great!
Got in the car turned the engine on, the exhaust gas warning light is now on. Fcking great, another trip to Renault to get it fixed.
Wonder if its related to the car being...
Does an HPI check reveal if there is accident damage to a car, or an insurance claim against it - or does HPI check just check if the car has been a write off and repaired?
I suspect the last option.
Any help appreciated.
All,
Was out for a drive tonight when i pulled into a car park. All of a sudden, the car seemed to be stuck at 2000 rpm. Blipping the throttle made the revs go up, but it kept staying at 2000 rpm. Didnt think anything more, came back to the car 30 mins later, started driving home without a...
Car in question is a 182.
Is there a crossover seperate to the tweeter in the front? or is it built into this tweeter?
Reason im asking is because the Vibe units im looking to buy have cable with in-line crossovers that i fit between the cable and the tweeter (instead of a muckle box), but...
All,
Now that the 182 has bedded in and im totally satisfied, I want to look at changing the stock speakers. I dont want to change the headunit because I hate the way a third party one looks different to the rest of the centre console - the Cabasse renault unit looks really good and matches...
Ive used the search function, but nothing answered my question.
I understand about the headlight levelling system, but it kinda seems that the driver side doesnt throw the light that far up the road. The passenger side is fine, illuminating the side of the road perfectly, but when I Was out...
All,
My old car (fiesta zetec-s) is currently in Admirals "approved repair centre" in Edinburgh for repair to the back end for a rear shunt. However, theyve made a fking mess of the job - the panel gaps are enormous (about 1cm gap where there should be none), they didnt replace the smashed...
So the 182 has over 600 miles on it now, ive been gentle with it but i had been starting to open it up more often; letting it warm up and then taking it to 5000 rpm, sometimes letting it come on cam and throw me into the seat but not all the way to the redline.
Tonight, I figured id take it...
All,
Still loving the 182, but ive got a few questions that I wonder if any other 182 owners could answer:
1) A minor glovebox-area rattle is present, apart from just living with it, has anyone had the same and know if its a specific bit/part that I can get?
2) After the engine is...
182 with cup chassis/spoilers in Silver arrived today.
Probably the best car ive ever driven, really well built and absolutely packed with features (xenons/climate control/cruise control etc). It handles like a dream, corners like a go kart and jesus christ its bloody fast!
The beauty of...
