I believe the lumpy idles in the 172/182/197 family is essentially just to due to quite a lean mixture as so to pass emission regs etc
As said though, zero to worry about.
You should have undone the bracket that secures it to get it out.
If you are trying to get it back in now are you trying to force it on/over the bracket maybe.
My little Ph1 172.
Im happy where it is power wise, dont want to chase bhp - im also happy with how it looks. So all good.
One thing i now want to start doing is a good freshen up of the suspension and am after your advice.
So far, in my head I have the following:-
Nearly new OE shocks...
Googling genuine Renault cambelt, I can't see any that have this stamping.
Agreed, obviously same belt as gates are one on most, but then there is a lot of dayco out there conti also etc, I.e. the belt will be the 'same' but the belts are intact marked different from genuine to aftermarket a...
So a Renault belt from the factory has 'Gates powergrip' written all over it?
Even though 'powergrip' is the brand label for their after market kits.....
Your car has had a cambelt change, you can still see the 'Gates Powergrip' labelling on the belt, widely supplied in the trade by motor factors etc ;) Plus that belt doesn't look too old, but it's never good to judge a camber on how it 'looks'.
Haha yeah, quite strange that! I work at the car parts place just over the road from you, same little industrial estate as Beaver Tool Hire. Pop in if you ever want cheap bits/oil/coolant/say hello/come show me your V6 lol
Ever do any trackdays at all? Looking at one over the winter.
As a general rule, only 2 things needed to start a car. Fuel & Spark.
Sounds like the fuel side is ok as its priming ok etc, worth chucking a jerry can of fuel in there just to make sure your gauge isn't fault.
A straight dying like that does sound electrical, probs not coil pack as they...
Seen both of these in Chi, the black ph2 quite a few weeks ago now, market car park - I think you parked next to my silver ph1?
Green ph1 exclusive a few times going over Oving traffic lights.
Anyone??
Be nice to see some locals :)
Or if the car is parked away from a power supply, you can purchase quite neat solar chargers.
Connect to positive and negative of the battery, put the little solar panel on the dash and just gives a trickle charge in daylight to keep the battery topped up.
I can agree with that, the belt run is slightly longer than id like, but its a bit of 6 of one half a dozen the other, cost vs effectiveness or visa versa.
TBH best idea is ill run it for 500 miles and be a guinea pig, and if its still all good, ill do a guide for the members guides forum and...
Or the way you could see it for fellow forum members is that its a big money saving exercise for people, and that the next kit availible is 300 quid odd?
It's not going to seize up after just a season sat dormant, don't panic.
Only things you need to do:-
1. Disconnect battery
2. Handbrake off
3. Leave in gear
Anything else is very optional.
