    meeting in Lincolnshire

They won't. I watched that programme on telly about Gyppo's getting married. Apparently the Pride of Lincoln is one of the few places they are regularly able to book for weddings because they will take payment in cash and aren't worried about several hundred "travellers" turning up. 25 Clio's...

    meeting in Lincolnshire

24 confirmed so far then. Should be a decent meet if the weather holds out and everyone actually turns up!

    182 look exhaust on a 172

    Wouldn't bother.

Saxo's aren't welcome at this meet anyway IIRC :p

    Springer Spaniel

Your Ben doesn't really smell actually. Most do though. As for the running, he must cover at least 5 times as much distance as the person walking him.

    Springer Spaniel

Awesome dogs. It's a shame they smell so much and have a fondness for water - the dirtier the better. Great pics though :)

    best oil to use?

Any 5w40 fully synthetic will be fine. So will any 10w40 or 15w40 fully synthetic if you can't get hold of 5w40.

    Do Virgin throttle bandwidth etc?

In my experience the Virgin Media cable broadband service always gives consistent speeds which are close to or in excess of what you're paying for. Are you using a broadband router? If so, it's possible that if you're paying for more than 10Mbit you're effectively wasting money. Most older...

    All front badges the same??

Worst "I want a new front badge and might be able to nick one off another Clio" thread ever ;) But yes, Ph1 are all the same and fit any Ph1. Same with Ph2's, they're just not interchangeable.

Michelin PE2 (exalto 2's) are no longer being made!!!!

I don't know how you've managed to come to that conclusion? I have P Zero Nero's on my car all round at the moment (and on my car they have huge torque to contend with). In fact, I've had 3 sets on the front and 2 sets on the back in the last 2½ years and never had an issue with grip in the dry...

    meeting in Lincolnshire

Although I don't mind you coming with me, I still think you should take your own. Get some more drive-by vids perhaps? The more cars that turn up the better.

    Do Virgin throttle bandwidth etc?

Virgin utilise various traffic management techniques on everything except the 50mbit service. Your bandwidth will get throttled on anything other than 50mbit if you spend too much time on YouJizz.

So Russ went to pod today......

Schweet. My best time was 14.8 in the 106 (only went twice mind). I'd like to know what the Clio will do but don't fancy wrecking the gearbox. What tyres were you running? Ordinary road tyres?

    Ladybower Meet - 22/08/2010

I won't be coming to this now. I'm running low on cash this month as it is, and by the sounds of it nobody else is going to turn up so it's kinda pointless. I will still be attending the Lincoln meet on the 29th though.

cant get labmda sensour out of cat

You'll be fine without it. If the emissions light comes on, just get a code reader for around £20 and turn the light off yourself.

Engine swap prices please, what have you paid...

Around £500 to £600 is about right for labour I'd say. I think that's about what I paid when my original engine conked. It's worth getting the cambelt kit, aux belt kit and water pump changed while you're at it though so you can add about another £300 in parts.

Take it for an Italian tune up. Getting the engine nice and hot should dry out any water ;)

Latest RR graphs (172 turbo content)

Steven... I have read your PM but unfortunately I completely forgot to respond. I've been off work all week and I've been concentrating on making the house and garden look half decent again - no mean feat, especially with my Mrs in my ear hole! In hindsight maybe you should have put your...

    Standard Ph2 172 ECU - What's it worth?

As above. It's not unlocked or fiddled with in any way. Just wondering what they go for, as I no longer need mine. I've done a search but prices appear to be quite varied. I've seen a couple go for £50 and a couple for £200?

Latest RR graphs (172 turbo content)

Sorry mate. I must have missed this post at the time. The boost controller is plumbed in EXACTLY how it was before (as far as I can tell anyway). The only difference being that it's now been mounted on the bulkhead next to the coolant bottle just to tidy the engine bay up a bit.

Latest RR graphs (172 turbo content)

Let's not turn this into a big long argument guys. As has already been mentioned, everyone is entitled to form their own opinions and I'm happy for anyone with a bit of interest to have a passenger ride so they can make up their own minds. Steve - the comment regarding the brown nosing was a...

Latest RR graphs (172 turbo content)

At the end of the day there's nothing stopping me from taking it elsewhere to get an RR figure. That would prove once and for all whether or not the figures have been distorted and whether or not it's simply down to who mapped the car. As you are no doubt aware, there are a lot of people on this...

    Decat... Silenced or Unsilenced?

Nope. That's the A617 between Sutton in Ashfield and the back end of Mansfield. Yep, that's with the decat. The camera does seem to have drowned out and muffled some of the noise though. I blame John for having a cheap camera - HD video but no h.264 audio ;)

Latest RR graphs (172 turbo content)

I'm not best positioned to comment on how it was mapped and why it was done the way it was. Frankly I know sweet FA about mapping, and as far as I'm concerned, if the car runs properly (which it does) and goes how it should (which again it does) then I'm happy. Therefore, Andy is much better...

    Bonnet in boot?

They definitely do fit. Me and John put his old bonnet in his boot (along with loads of other standard parts) after he'd had his ITB's fitted. You've just got to put it into the boot at a slight angle (it's slightly wider than the opening is). Once through it'll lay down flat.
