5w40 is recommended, though you can use 10w40 or in fact anything w40 IIRC without issues.
For what it's worth you might as well just stick with some decent 5w40 fully synthetic.
I had the Supersport exhaust when the car was standard and I still had the cat. Obviously this meant the light never came on.
I didn't get a decat pipe until the blower was fitted, after which I had the Omex ECU and now the Gen90. Because neither of these ECU's rely on the second lambda sensor...
The issue is that there's not really space to fit a much larger turbo. There's only about a centimetre of space between the compressor housing and the heat shield on the bulkhead.
The only way around this would be to cut away at the bulkhead or to get some clever tubular manifold made up...
Ignore the s**t you've heard. They'll install you a perfectly working, great sounding and reliable ITB kit and map it in a day. You won't be disappointed.
The pops and bangs if you have the Supersport system and decat are VERY loud. Mine banged a lot more than it popped. Don't know if that's just because my exhaust gets hotter than a standard car though?
I had exactly the same system on my 172 when it was standard, and I still have it now.
When first fitted, the Supersport without a decat seemed to drone a bit at around 70mph but was fairly quiet below that.
Adding the decat made it louder when driving below about 60mph but not by too much...
Very nice example you've got there.
The only thing I will say is that with such low mileage, the engine won't have properly "opened up" yet. Make sure you take it right up to the top of the rev range regularly to help loosen it up.
The quickest N/A 1*2's are those on high miles that get driven...
As Danny said, atmospheric pressure is equal to 1 bar.
So that means that the air pressure going into an engine running 1.2 bar of boost is actually 1.2 bar over atmospheric pressure.
The torque is the most impressive thing about it IMO. Under hard acceleration you can feel your internal...
They should have put that engine in it to begin with. The standard 197 engine is gutless below 5,000rpm and even after that they feel slow compared to a 1*2.
Boost FTW!
Those wheels actually look awesome.
My 172 is Iceberg too, and I have the standard wheels. I don't suppose you know the colour / paint code for them do you? Or is it just anthracite and the camera making it look lighter?
Yeah. Uprated rods, pistons, bolts etc. Running a Helix paddle clutch too but it can barely take this much torque, so looks like I'll need an even tougher one soon :dapprove:
There is that, but I intend to keep this car for a long time. When it comes to getting another car I won't be selling this one, I'll be keeping it as a track day / Sunday toy. I own the car outright (no finance etc) and everything has been paid for with my own money so it's not like I'll be...
Not yet lol. It's sat in my mate's shed all primered up, just waiting until he's free to sort my bumpers out then he's going to spray the lot for me all in one go.
Sat on Sportline springs ATM. I'm on the lookout for a set of KW V2's though.
I'm using standard disks, PF97 pads and some crazy blue brake fluid (forgot which sort). 4 pots are next on the shopping list however. The brakes still work very well in all honesty. You've got to bear in mind that 95%...
