Oh yeah brilliant day, it was going sidewards for most of the day. Wasn't that excited about the track from watching videos but i hate to say it i enjoyed it more than cadwell:eek: Definatly going back sometime next year.
Went to castle combe with MLR a few weeks back. A few clios turned up, everytime i saw them going around they were pushing some powerful jap motors around the chicanes:cool:
Went a little twitchy for a second, doesn't really go very well on wet grass!!
Took another lad out...
A grand wouldn't get near to bodies or charger! Looking more like 3-4 for either. If the wife will let you, do a few track days! You cant enjoy theses cars on the road anywhere near there full potential.
Does anybody know how much louder in Db's a de-cat would make a cat-back system. Got a k-tec system now and its about 97-99dbs so id worry about getting so some quieter tracks.
No more until about march, april time next year. Iv order a 200 cup to replace the ph1 a my daily, so can do a bit more serious work on it. Upgrades but mostly maintence, iv been to 9 track days in it this year, so its feeling a bit tired.
Will be defo booking up with MLR again, really rated...
coilovers, brakes and completely stripped out. I take it thats ok then? In the briefing, one of the organisers said he did it 57 seconds a few years a ago when the chicanes wernt there.
Mine was fine on the start straight, think the ph1 gears are a bit longer than wlliams and ph2.
Cant image what the track would be like running itb's and slicks. My mate by the avon tyre trying to time me, he said i was hitting about 1:23 not sure how good that is.
Did you need to get into 5th on the straight, because i tryed it a few times and i just lost momentum. Sounded like your mk1 was running really well. Really enjoyable circuit, thought my clio would struggle with the evo's but showed alot of them up:cool:
Very lucky i even got there at all...
yep iv had both of those problems, but they were only made in with locktight!! However quite a few of the threads have f**ked up too not over impressed really.
didnt think id get a reply that quick!! iv found a set of them 1 normal 1 gt for £730 which sounds quite good then, but there local to me so save on the delivery.
so how long would they last compared to gg 888, because iv just got 2 days out of my fronts!!
Iv got quoted £100+vat a corner for the silverstone slicks which sounds very good now.
Having run 888 on track for a while i dont think there worth the money that toyo are asking for them. Just wondering how much slicks are in 19/57-15.
Is anybody running silverstone FTZ slicks?
iv taken my passenger seat out today, and noticed there are two parallel cracks on the back of the seat. Not from impact damage looks like stress. But they have been fitted with cobra sidemounts and subframes so not incorrectly fitted.
I brought them 2nd hand off pistonheads but they had...
why not?
Swap your clio for something that can tow(defender) and a trailer.
Find somewhere to work and store the car.
Insure your dad for road use for when you need to test modifications, then go to as mean track days as your budget allows. Gutted i didnt start them when i could have.
Also...
Few more videos and some pics coming later.

Went with the lancer group to silverstone yesterday, brillant day on the southern circuit. Was worrying the clio would struggle against all the other expensive machinery! But it held its head high all day:cool...
