Hi all,
Anyone know if a head from a K4J 712 will fit on the K4J 780?
My girlfriend's Mk.3 water pump shat the bed the other day and caused the timing belt to snap. My Dad has offered the head off my Mum's old 2005 plate Mk.2 1.4 16v to get it going. Wondered if I could just swap the head over...
I found that only to be a very short term solution, they failed after a few months. In the long run I ended up buying new jets, they were actually very cheap.
I used to use a yellow Powerflex bush cut and zip tied into the rear mount but found that it was too hard and kept snapping the hangers off my exhaust - been through two back boxes in 2 years that way. In the end I bought a new OEM one for £7 off eBay, car is much quieter too.
Before you go down the route of ripping out your CD Player:

3) Use the track forward button to see if you can see an option to turn AUX on
If you can then that lead I posted should work.

I put mine in 5th at 30mph all the time when I'm just cruising through a long 30 zone. Most of the time with the cruise control on too. Doesn't fuss at all if you give it some power.
Doesn't the new Merc A class use a slightly more powerful version of the Renault 1.5/1.6 diesel engine? Might be worth looking at what sort of pumps they use.
Depends I guess. My parents have a 2005 1.4 16v Expression (they've owned from new) kicking around (with 130,000 on the clocks) that gets used in Winter for popping out and about (both have big and very new German cars that are s**t in the snow - even with proper tyres). That thing has an Update...
