Simple question.
Will the grey speedo from a ph1 172 fit and work in a ph2 172/182 using the ph2 172/182 interior loom?
Just prefer the light grey to the black is all?

theres a guy on c16v had an f7r in a mk2. he used a 172 manifold and lobbed the flange off then adapted it to fit the williams flange. made something like 170bhp on the rollers

driving home from kent last night car suddenly started running on 3 cylinders, limped it home then after about 70 miles it suddenly fixed itself and started running perfectly fine again.
Got the RSTuner out this morning, error code "Injector 4 fault", fair enough gave it a few revs...
Completely agree, if I had my wife and 2 year old daughter in the car and feared for their safety I wouldnt of been as "controlled" as him. No f**king way Id of wiped as many out as possible once they started chasing me again
Me and my dad have mananged to do clutches on mk1 1.2 and 1.4's its deff not an engine out job. Take it to Dan (above) hes a legend and you'll know its done properly
you could just plug it into the lead and hide it behind the dash then you wouldn't see any cables at all and could bluetooth your iphone to it as well. Would be cool as hell :)

Thanks for the replys, just had a look and cant see anything to the right of the dipstick, however to the top left of the oil filter (as you look at the engine from front of car) theres a number which reads n0410 thos doesnt match my logbook though, is this the engine number or is it some sort...
Im trying to register the engine change in my mk1 with the dvla and i have a local garage thats happy to do te report for me.
I took the f4r from a ph1 172 so am i roght in thinking its an f4r730? I just need to know where to find the engine number so the garage can confirm that it is the...
Yeah but from how I compared the 172 and valver subframe the bolt locations are in the same place at the back, difference lies in the front, the 172 has a box section spot welded to the chassis legs which goes to meet the front subframe mounts, so in theory by taking that out the mk2 and bolting...
Side strips dont fit, I tried it. The mk1 strips are much longer and the clips are different on the mk1 doors.
