Nah... it's only the over 2litre models that are straight sixes... the smaller engined cars are all Harry Four-potters. That rule applies in the E36s and E46s too.
172 Cup... great car to strip out... no air con or ABS brakes to mess around with... car is good track car without stripping it tbh! Less than a ton, kerb weight.
Hello all,
I am after lowering my wife's mk1, ph1. It's a 1.2 8v and is sitting on a very nice (new) set of 15" TSWs. I don't want the car to look slammed... besides at this stage I have no intention of doing anything to the bodywork... just nicely lowered so it is not stilt like!!
Can...
Who are you? Why do you feel the need to tarnish the good name of this club by posting things like what has been posted on Barry Boys' forum?

Why hasn't Cliosport admin dealt with this appropriately? Four years ago when I had my Cup and...
I don't understand all these people that rattle on about losing the back end in a front wheel drive car. You have to be driving like a complete c**k for the back end to go completely in fwd... saving on ice.
I don't think it is fair to say this is "horribly modded".
Go and have a look at a few cars in Hull that have been horribly modded like the "Noddy" red and yellow Nova, and an Escort with 14" wheels and a bodykit made out of cardboard boxes.
This car is unique. It has had a fortune spent on...
Front aerial on the Mk1 Clio seems to be the source of a leak when it rains into the car. Understand this is a common problem. What is the solution for it?

I wash the car using triple wax foaming wash.
Then dry it.
Then use T-cut on whole car to get rid of any water marks, or slight scrapes.
Then buff it.
Then I use Meguiars detailer and quik clay to remove dust and residue.
Then buff it.
Then I use Meguiars Tech Wax.
Then buff it.
Not too bad...
Hello,
I have just bought Deb an 'N' plate 1.2 Clio. I threw away the nasty original wheels that were on it (14s) and rebooted it with 15" TSW Heats. I don't want to do any exhaust stuff as have just fitted new standard exhaust mid and rear. She doesn't want a big sound system or anything daft...
I don't think another test would make a lot of difference, and a "racing test" might be just the thing to encourage even more reckless driving on the roads. Let's face it the current test is garbage. It tests to see if someone can technically drive a car. There is nothing to test whether someone...
Granted, young drivers are not necessarily bad drivers, but they have a LOT to learn. I thought I was amazing when I passed at 17. I had been driving around off road for years, with a grandfather who had 4.5 acres and an uncle who is a game-keeper. However, it wasn't long before I realised that...
You should try rear wheel drive... you have to reverse up hills in the winter and do 2mph round corners!!!
I have to say, I never had any problems with my Cup (not even any near misses) in the winter time.
If you don't know what you are doing with the car's electrics don't touch it. Get someone who knows what they're doing to look at it. (Not necessarily a Renault dealer, because they'll prob make it worse!!!)
As a car owners' club with the word "Sport" in the title we should be advocating safety, sensible driving and abiding by the law, however hard that is when you have a Clio Sport!!!
I think that a debate on the topic would not go amiss, and if you lucky youngsters who have bought/been bought...
I have to say I agree with everything you say. (Are you a bobby?). I had my first "own" car when I was 21. It cost £800 and I saved up and bought it myself. It was a Metro Turbo. My parents were vehemently against the idea.
What worries me most is the fact that young inexperienced drivers do...
