That's easy to say if you are either
richor
single, living with parents, and therefore can afford a new car. When I lived at home and had a reasonably paid job, I too could afford new and had a brand new 1.2 Dynamique and then a brand new 172 Cup.
As for the 1.2 using fuel cos of the way it is driven - it is my wife's car. She drives slowly all the time and only uses it to go from home to work (5miles), home to her mum's (2miles), and home to town (6miles).
The 172 I have just bought has full and detailed Renault service history and has been very well looked after and not abused at all.
I drive it like any other car - carefully. Obviously as a sports model I do open it up from time to time in order that the engine is allowed to work to its full...
Well, first one just fell to bits inside and wanted a 172 Cup and got very good trade in deal. Then didn't have one for ages and the wife wanted a Clio. So I bought her one.
Then I thought it must be just me, and saw the Exclusive for sale, and thought go on... I'll have another.
Should have...
It seems that all Clios are garbage and it makes me wonder why they have such a big following.
Every Clio (4 to date) I have owned has had major problems. My current one cranks but won't start and seems to be giving the garage a major dilemma. The wife's 1.2 eats fuel. My old Cup had 12...
My wife has an N-reg 1.2 8v Clio (Mk1 PH1)
It seems to eat fuel. £45 quid's worth lasted 222miles, which can't be right as my old Beemer managed 380 miles off the same amount... and that had a 2.5litre engine.
Any ideas?
Can't pm you for some reason - so in response to another of your posts...
Every time there is an incident, make a note of the date, time, and everything said or done. All speech should be in quotes and should be verbatim. Just do it like a diary. Try not to retaliate in any way. If you do need...
I've always found them to be not sensitive enough!!! Evidently yours is special.
But when Top Gear has sorted out my non-start problem, see how sensitive mine is - it may need making more sensitive!!!
Have had my 172 Exclusive a week and it's doing this. AA came out and ran diagnostic. Immobiliser fault. No power going to the coils. Getting taxi to work. Boo. Really annoyed as same fault was sorted by Reno in May. Relay for immo. PS It's half 5 am.
Got to agree. Technically if she had made it onto the roundabout, you have driven into the back of her, and that is your fault for going too close/fast/etc. Having said that, the Police - who do not have to even attend non-injury accidents, as long as road closures not required etc - made no...

In response - I can't tell you what difference it makes, as I did not have it carried out. I have just bought the car. All the work had been done prior to me getting it. It cost £294. I will get the paperwork out and...
Hmmm... 60,000 miles on a 5 year old car. Bang on average miles. So not a low mileage example. Price is reasonable nonetheless if you go by Parkers guide. Depends on where you go, but cambelt job is not cheap. You can get the cambelt itself for around £15... it's just the labour. £250 maybe...
Yes absolutely - nothing worse than getting heart set on something and then finding out insurance is same as the car's value!
I recommend you try Greenlight and Privilege. No-one else could touch them with me. Even Adrian Flux - always good in the past - were rubbish this time round.
I pay...
This kind of slur really annoys me. I am 30 years old, and have driven a lot of cars, and owned a fair few too. Call me a liar if you wish. At the end of the day, I have experienced benefits from the Ecotek valve on a range of cars. On the 172 there is no obvious improvement in performance...
Horribly modded black Clio in Ferrybridge services, with a massive rear bumper, stickers all over it saying various tuning parts, and a spoiler like an ironing board, rear windows black as black can be, and fronts completely untinted...
I trust it is no-one on here?

Now - if these reports and the report from the Department of Trade and Industry are false, then why have people not taken the company to the cleaners. While I am ready to admit it may not work on all cars, in...
Don't weigh it down with speakers!!! The red line is at 8000 ish I believe. The performance is wonderful. As for the wheels - well that is down to taste. I think the standard ones are vile. But if interested, seller of car to me is selling full set of standard wheels all with new tyres.
As for...
I'd be very very very wary of anything Cat anything... If you do want it, do some very detailed research. Even if the research costs you a couple of hundred pounds, it's worth it - rather than ending up with a duffer and wasting £10+grand
Yes, it was in Redline earlier this year.
The previous owner put the wheels on. I think they're nicer than the standard ones. Can't comment on performance changes from putting wheels on as didn't do it myself.
No plans to lower/colour code etc. May fit Ecotek valve (awaits being bombarded with...
