Hmm, looking at a pic i found it looks like just vacuum, the electrical plug a sensor? Already have mine bypassed, needed the info for a friend of mine for use building a supercharged Golf i think.
Don't drill too many holes as you could make it quieter, if the air dosnt echo in the lower half of the box you get the same sort of sound as a naff open cone.
:S
That was my 1st though, had a BMC on my Cupra and ran a gap of about 2" between the CAF and the carbon fliter housing. The roar from that was immense as the air echoed in the carbon housing.
Putting performance issues aside, whats the loudest induction setup you've heard/seen on a 172/182?
Mine is proper loud, i have a standard filter and airbox with a few small holes drilled into the cold side of the box and have bypassed the acoustic valve. I'd say mine was louder and much...
If that hoop was bent into a circle shape then prised open in order to get it into the shaft, it may be likely to bend and pop back out when actually towing. I'm not entirely sure how the original ones were done.

I was going to make these as i have access to CNC lathes but dont have the right tools for bending the hoop. How did you do that part? (not that i would now because im selling the car anyway)
If you select Renault\Clio Twin Headlamp\98-01 on the link i posted (http://www.ringautomotive.co.uk/bulb_search.asp) it gives you HB3s for dipped and H7s for main, which is correct.
Best thing to do would get a letter template done for everyone and figure out who we're sending them too, then everyone post another list when the'yre letters are filled in and ready to post complete with stamps, then once everyones ready all stick them in the post box on the same day.
Thats what i thought but i dont know. Mate has a 172 and has been offered some cup parts very cheap, so far i know of disks pads and bearings and he wants to know if they'll fit his 172. If not then i'll prob buy the parts for my cup.
