clio 172 what will i keep up with?

^^^^^ Took the words out of my mouth. Another street racer to give the Clio a bad name, great! Seems that owners are either Evo readers or boy racers - very different IMHO

197 Cup Spoiler - Love it or Hate it?

Better bare back - more stealth Screams too hard with - and risks being more show than go

Anyone have Yellowstuff fitted to a 172/182

Was just about to go with Ferodo DS 2500 and Brembo plain discs but just spoke to a guy at work who has a Vee and he has yellowstuff pads fitted and says they are excellent. Really good performance from cold, low dust etc. I see K Tec sell them but not really heard much about them. Anyone offer...

    I hate Claying

Buy some Bilt Hamber auto clay, it's a doddle as you use water instead of lube. You are pressing too hard if your arm aches, apply almost no pressure, that way you prevent marring.

    Jesus christ!

Joking aside mate, that's a pretty sick thing to say.

Which will squeal least and last the longer?

Do you mean both pads are wheel eaters?

Which will squeal least and last the longer?

Okay, I know these topics are discussed over and over, but ... I am looking at getting 1 of 2 brake upgrade combos. Without worrying about cost, which of these combinations will most importantly, 1) squeal less at slow speeds and 2) last longer - Brembo HC and Ferodo DS2500 OR Brembo MAX with...

    Which clay for a novice??

Disagree, Megs is good but if you go outside of what you can get in Halfrauds, I reckon the best stuff out there is Bilt Hamber's auto clay. Massive bar (better value) and doesn't need a special lube, works with water. Easier to use for a beginner that way. Look on the detailing world forum to...

    KTR janspeed 182 exhaust system

I have the Janspeed box too and can vouch for it being a nice system. Nice modest noise with the added bonus of being lighter than other systems because of the 1 back box - more performance for the money! Also fitted a 2nd hand sports cat to it recently and the noise is even nicer although only...

    Bugs love inferno

I mean more that they just land all over the body thinking the car might be a great big orange pollen blob!

    Bugs love inferno

I know some people hate the Inferno colour but it seems to get the vote from bugs! Every time I clean it, it gets bombarded by all sorts of little 6 legged friends loving the orange. Any other Inferno owners have the same problem?

How to see if my manifold is RS?

Does it feel any keener though? Mine is an RS inlet and probably not going to bother matching it......

Idea of value of my 182 please?

Worth 8500 but the reality is, credit crunch, lots of 182's on market as people trading up after 3 years etc. may be lucky to get 8000. Low mileage should really help though.

How to see if my manifold is RS?

Ta! I knew I could do that obviously....;)

How to see if my manifold is RS?

I know that the RS manifolds have RS written on them but I just can't seem to get a good view. I have tried a small mirror under the fuel rail but I can't seem to see much. Can anyone be more specific with how to see it? Should I be able to feel the raised lettering somehow if I can get my hand...

    182 upgrades

I have these exact mods, plus a KTR/Janspeed sports cat. The car was bought with these mods so can't really compare to original spec but I am happy with the performance. It doesn't feel that much quicker than 182's I have been in though so not sure I would plump up for those mods myself. I also...

Soft top is a bit Miami Vice to be honest, ruins the lines of the car a bit too. Not jealous really....

Quick drive down to the rough waters of the beach for a few piccy's !

Looking nice mate. How much noisier is it with the rear stripped out? Have you noticed better performance now it has lost the weight?

    Got my badges done!!

We think the same way mate, mine are with Middo as we speak to get the done in anthracite and inferno. I can't exactly claim I am original though, it was seeing Fubars inferno that gave me the idea. I am also getting some interior bits done too, looking forward to the results.

    removing steering wheel badge?

I did this only last week. You are going about it the right way. Use your screwdriver to gradually prise it off from the underside. Just keep pushing the screwdriver further up behind the badge on each side and and it will come off. There are 2 clips holding it in and if you are careful they...
