Sorry if this seems really basic but ive never bought alloys before!!!!
Anyway, i know about the different sizes (14", 16",etc.) but am stumped when people talk about tyre sizes and wheel offset - 195/205 - whats that?!!
Also, if you get alloys that are bigger than your standards...
Just wondered if someone could explain the difference made to an engine when you have the gap set at different widths (e.g 7mm - 9mm)?
I dont really understand how a slightly wider / smaller gap can be important in a spark plug!

unless you can find some way of using the standard wires in the door (you will have to trace them back to wherever the x-over is and bypass that) then i reckon that drilling is your only option - if youre careful, i cant see how you would go through wires. Just rememebr to copy what the other...

(embarrased) oops, thatll teach me to try and think as soon as i get up - ive just realised that you want the door to pop open rather than central locking!!
t**t!
do you already have central locking in the doors? if so then you should do it yourself - i wired in central locking (and had to fit the b*****d motors first!) to a mates ROver 214 who had the concept 200 installed. Youc an get the wiring diagrams from cliffords website, and the dopwnloadable...
ive had a good hunt round last renewal - found tesco was quite expensive for me (19, 2yr NCB, 3pts) - i would HIGHLY reccomend either Frizzell insurance or Direct Line; for me, Frizzell just beat direct line by £50, when i had my sh*tty micra (dont laugh, were all poor sometimes!) i was insured...

tony - yeah i see where youre coming from but if there are jobs i cant do through lack of tools or whatever, i will def take it to be done elsewhere - i reckon i could spot the faults during inspection, and even if i did get to the stage where i wasnt exactly sure as to the cause of a fault...

Ive just got a 95 1.4RT and it is almost due for its 60k service - it has FrenaultSH at the mo, but i am planning on keeping this car for a good few years and am a fairly competentent home mechanic, having done engine swaps / clutch changes, etc. on other motors.

no, ive put them in - they stick out by only about 6mm, so i figured the spacer would sort it!
Sorry if the question seems dumb, but after drlling can i just screw the speaker through the door card and through the door, or will i need something else to hold it in place?
thanks for any help...
i have a pair of kenwood 6.5" left over from my old car, and am gonna try to fit them to the front doors of my 95 clio. Ive worked out it should be possible if i make a 6mm thick spacer ring to fit between the speaker and the dor, but as i havent done this beofre, im wondering if it is ok to...
