    Advice needed urgently!!

The V12's offer budget performace and for the money they're great.

    Here we go again..........

Yep, feels a lot quicker and more responsive now. Staring at the nurburgring sticker on the Volvo for 16 miles makes me think I defiantly need to go, well worth the tow :)

    Here we go again..........

Got my car back from Fred on Thursday night at 10pm for a trackday on Friday. Great service and the car is running spot on and didn't miss a beat this afternoon! He stayed late getting it sorted on Wednesday and Thursday night knowing I needed it so in my eyes that's unbeatable customer...

RB 182 - Jaguar Land Rover plant Gaydon

I am indeed, it's currently as BTM having the belts done so fingers crossed I'm picking it up tonight! If not I'll be bringing the Jap crap, bright yellow MX5 haha. Did you manage to get a on the track session?

    Here we go again..........

I'll be contacting the 'specialist' letting them know how poor the job they did was. I'm not name dropping as I'd like a genuine reason as to why they messed it up so badly!

    Here we go again..........

It's my car, I've only had it 5 months and to be perfectly honest I didn't realise it was running badly. Only reason it went into Fred is because the aux belt was fitted incorrectly and shredded itself!

RB 182 - Jaguar Land Rover plant Gaydon

Keep seeing an RB 182 with a stubby aerial parked up near the main building, anyone from here?

Quality part worn or budget new tyres

I've been in your situation when I was a poor student! I went for the part worn option which I did regret, one tyre was split and the other had been repaired. If I was in the situation again I'd by budget but still branded if possible.

Test drove a 200 this morning...!

Sounds good to me, I think I need to book myself a test drive! I was just worried it might have lost it's Renault Sport feel as I like how the 182 performs and handles. Can anyone shed some light on the diffence between the 200 and 200 cup?

Test drove a 200 this morning...!

How did you find it compared to a 182 in terms of handling, power, brakes etc? I'm possibly looking to change my 182 in the near future and I'm considering one.

    Xenons ON, during the day?

That's never goin to happen plenty of retards still pass their driving tests lol
  13. M@tt_182

    Xenons ON, during the day?

Where I work when driving vehicles 'on site' we always have to have headlights on so I understand it does help regardless of weather conditions. I just don't get why people do it just because they're 'xenons' and especially the jokers with retro fitted ones!
  14. M@tt_182

    Xenons ON, during the day?

I wouldn't say they're useless it's a great idea but it's obviously not that much of an issue otherwise all cars would have them fitted as standard. I imagine a number of people do use lights all the time regardless of what they are but the majortiy prbly because they're xenons.

    Xenons ON, during the day?

I bet half the people in this thread wouldn't use their headlights in the day if they didn't have xenons....I agree it does make you more visible but if it's that much of an issue by law all cars would have them come on as standard.

    Trophy / 182 Front Splitter

I fitted a Skoda Fabia splitter recently and screwed it straight into the bumper, maybe it's working making some new holes in the bumper?

Wet Road - Diesel - Ouch!

I'd be very suprised if the Council are interested in the case even if you have an army of witnesses. A spillage isn't something that can be controlled however if it had been reported before your accident and not rectified you might have a chance?

Driving on a frayed aux belt???

Thanks but I'm not that clued up on the Clio yet to be taking bits off! If it comes down to it Fred can tow my car to the garage as it's not that far :)

Driving on a frayed aux belt???

I'm going to give them a call once I've found the paperwork out :)

Driving on a frayed aux belt???

Do you think they'll be that bothered? Surely they'll just make out it could be down to another fault causing the belt to fray? I'm pretty disappointed but I'm just glad it didn't take the cambelt out!

Driving on a frayed aux belt???

Just checked and working it out the cars only done 8-9k since the change. It was done in Novemvber 2009 along with a full service, so a year and a half ago. I can't imagine that NWP will really have anything to say looking at some of the posts on here. I just spoke to BTM and they've had to...

Driving on a frayed aux belt???

The most direct route is down a bypass so I don't think pc plod would like that! If I was to go the non bypass route it's easily another 10 miles on the journey. The RAC will charge for a tow from home to the garage but I might find out the exact amount.

Driving on a frayed aux belt???

The belts aren't due, they were done over a year ago. The previous owner had the work done at NW as they lived in Manchester.
  24. M@tt_182

Driving on a frayed aux belt???

It was done at NW Performance so you never know! The invoice shows cambelt and aux belt change so I imagine it's a faulty tensioner that's caused the belt to die.

Driving on a frayed aux belt???

Cheers guys I'll look into getting it recovered, the belts were only done 10k ago which is annoying!

Driving on a frayed aux belt???

It's already been driven home a couple of miles with the rac following me. Is it worth getting it towed to freds then?

Driving on a frayed aux belt???

Rac won't cover me now for a tow, it's only 16 miles would a private company cost a lot to tow it in?
  29. M@tt_182

Driving on a frayed aux belt???

Half my aux belt ate itself this evening, the rac rescued me and trimmed off the excess and I drove home! I now need to drive to the closest ren specialist which is Fred at btm but it's 16 miles away! What do I do???

Thanks both, it's being dropped off this morning so hopefully they'll have it sorted quickly! I hate it when a simple job turns out to be a pain in the arse....
