Have you a read through the info in the insurance section? Most reasonable quotes seem to be coming from Admiral at the moment. I'm 24 with 5 years no claims and my renewal is going to be £600.
Sometimes you have to a pay a premium for something you really want which is fair enough. Just go in with a very low offer but try not to offend them! I offered £500 less when buying my car and ended up getting £300 off the asking price...
If any work has been carried out at Renault you should be able to get the info. Not sure if you need to pin point the specific dealer for the info though?
Servicing is pretty easy to be honest, as mentioned above there is plenty of guides on the forum if you sign up. I'm keeping to the Renault service intervals but also changing the oil and filters inbetween services for peace of mind.
I had to get one done at Renault last year which was £150ish, I tried the local key place who stuck the key in a machine and said they couldnt do it, I think they can only program certain types of key.
I also came from a 106 into a 182 and it was a worthwhile move! I also wanted to come out the boy racer 106 scene as it was time to grow up a little bit but not to much. The Clio is a lot more solid and packs a lot of features for the money so its great. The cambelt changes are expensive but...
I'd still be suprised if he was letting it go for so little money if it's genuine. Heres Jonny1*2's for sale thread - http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?563899-Genuine-Renault-Clip-£1500-OVNO&highlight=renault+clip
I've got some SMD ones off eBay I think they're 9 SMD and cost £4.99 delivered which was good. They've been in for a couple of weeks and I've not had any problems so far. I'm not fussed by the 'no sidelights' craze aslong as the bulb colours match on the xenon's and the sidelights it looks ok.
Even though I've only just got the Clio I miss my 106! The 106 was a harsh ride on bilsteins on the road, everything rattled, it ate driveshafts but it was super quick and just felt like more of a track car. Don't get me wrong the Clio is a great car and you get a lot for your money but the 106...
Seen your car a couple of times parked up on site at the Jaguar/Land Rover plant in Gaydon. I park around the opposite side of the car park near the water tower :)
I brim it everytime I fill up which is once a week however I never really take notice of the price as it's depressing! The Clio is still pretty good on fuel however the first half of the tank goes really quickly which makes me think it's costing a lot....
I'm having a few interior parts (not full dash) in my car flocked and wondered what the best colour would be to match the rest of the car? I've got a feeling having the parts done in black might look a bit odd compared to the rest.
Just been having a read of that site, it's really good. I'm going to start using the 2 bucket method and invest in some mitts for cleaning rather than sponges. I'm happy to spend a bit of money on the products as it'll make me use them and it's now the summer so hopefully I won't need to clean...
Drying towels  how many would I need to dry the Clio? I think I'll defo purchase the Blackhole stuff as that looks like it does a great job! I understand it'll need re applying but keeping it to a minimum is good for me.
So at a minimum I should purchase the blackhole and auto glym wax?
Will the poorboys stuff take a lot of polishing, is it easy to apply and remove? I've got a few applicator pads and some cloth's to remove excess which ive owned and hardly ever used lol
I usually blast the car with the pressure washer, bucket and sponge, then spray again and finish with a...
Before I start I'm not a great fan of polishing car and the whole 'detailing' thing. I'm looking for a quick easy to use polish that'll remove the swirls and give the car a nice shine.
In the past I've used meg's 3 stage but it takes far too long and I don't have the time! I've also tried...
Yes of course you can but all the history matched up to where the vehicle was originally purchased and receipts from services were included to match the stamps in the book.
I think a car with FSH, two keys, all the paperwork etc with couple of minor bodywork issues is better than a totally...
Personally I was only looking for a car with FSH as you can't trust what people say unless they can provide proof of receipts. I'll be doing regular oil changes inbetween full services at the garage and keeping all paperwork for the parts I buy. Obviously condition of the vehicle is also...
I've decided to get my alloys refurbed but obviously want them as close to standard as possible (Ixell 205-110). The powder coaters I want to use work from an RAL colour chart http://www.ralcolor.com/ does anyone know the closest possible match??
