Buy mine
Anyway, look out for the exhaust, they will drop off after 40k miles, so make sure that's been replaced. Cam belt needs doing at 72k or 5 years, so make sure that's been done too.
I find my car slow, annoyingly slow at times, although I have had it for almost 2 years and I got used to it a long time ago.
Still, my passengers gasp and crap themselves whenever I floor it. And when I moan about wanting a faster car I always get the reply; "What's wrong with your car? It's...
I took the spare, tool kit, back seats and all the mats out of my car, weighed in at 45kg. Ran it like that for a couple of weeks. Would have taken the passenger seat out too if I knew how to.
Didn't really make any difference.
That Evo guide is pretty good.
Noticed the car is 5 years old and has done 40k miles. Make sure it has had the cambelt done and has a new exhaust (or a SS one), because these will both need changing as soon as you buy the car otherwise.
I don't love my car, I'm always calling it names ha ha. The s****y French rattlebox :approve:
The misses loves it though :S She's always going on about it.
Often get bored with mine because I find it so slow. I can't afford to buy anything else though :(
Regarding the comments earlier in the thread about seeing your car in a reflection or seeing someone else driving it... I agree, looks mint, makes me like the car again :D
Mine drives perfectly fine from the moment I turn the engine on. The idle is as rough as f**k for the first few minutes though.
It's normal, wouldn't worry about it.
Only a few have alloy bonnets and shift lights (mine has just the shift light with no alloy bonnet).
Look out for the exhaust - it will drop off after 40k miles so make sure that and the cam belt have been changed. Other than that, look for the usual wear and tear associated with a 5 year...
The only reason I'd personally get a 182 to replace a 172 is because it'd be newer and have less miles. I don't see the 182 as a higher spec model or an upgrade personally, there just isn't enough differences between the cars.
Urgh, no as in don't keep them, remove them.
The history behind them is all good and nice, but it's still just a clio and the public is going to see it as a 'chav' mod.
As already mentioned, it may attract unwanted attention.
