Sorry, not trying hijack the thread, but if you don't want to splash out on Coilovers Lucas, the apex springs lower the car about the same and cost a 1/10th of the price (unless you snap the abs cable, then its nearer 1/9 ;))
People have mentioned that it can cause muchos stress on the...
At first I also thought the 182 brakes were rubbish (and the g/f still does), but once they've got some heat into them they're very strong and very progressive. The "wet motorway" syndrome is quite scary, and other cars definitely don't suffer as badly.
Since changing my suspension I...
Pros = quicker engine response when used in conjunction with a throttle cable
Cons = if you lighten it too much, your car will be jerky and stall all the time
^^ sorry mate, I must have been laughing so hard I missed who posted originally ;) hope you enjoy your 182 when it arrives. Oh and don't buy a "225 chip"!
Renault claim their model will reach 140+mph, and if laws allow (seperate issue, I agree!) then you can drive it that quick. If the engine blows up, Renault must honour the warranty. If you strapped a jet-engine to the back, they might not be as willing...
Akira, you work for the Honda marketing department don't you! You must do.... ;)
I've driven all 3. The most unsporty is definitely the T-sport, but its great as a 'normal' car, and the engine is just as good as the type-r's.
The Civic is fast, but like someone said, its steering is...
Most dealers don't even know what cars Renault make.
If I was neb-cm, I'd sue renault for being such lying c***s....oh, and then go to GDI for your future services!
Because they look hot...buy one, however, and you'll be frustrated by the handling, speed vs. running costs and paying twice the insurance of the 182!
(oh and the interior ;))
Still great cars though :)
Dooby, I had a Ford Racing Puma (two in fact!)...and I stupidly bought Toyo T1-S tyres and when I got the car back from the tyre fitter I honestly felt it was dangerous to drive....the rear-end would roll really badly on small steering inputs and pushing the car hard was something only a very...
lol, I think we all agree that you'll notice a bit of extra poke ;)
I traded 'down' in power stakes, from 321bhp in my M Roadster, to a mere 182, but it still doesn't feel "slow". They're so light and full of beans, its difficult not to be impressed!
They're quite reliable for a handmade car (if its the mk1 you're thinking about?), and really good fun to own if you like being noticed (as a petrolhead that is, its all positive attention).
Never really heard many problems with head gaskets, the biggest problem is the coilpacks, which seem...
I don't think you'll have any major problems. With a 35 profile the rolling radius will be almost the same as a 40 profile 18" wheel....and several people have gone to 19" wheels on the V6 in the past.
I changed my 17's for 18's, and the rears started to rub on the suspension struts. I used...
I really don't see how a much older car with 27bhp/ton less can be the same pace as a new one...unless you Valver drivers have much more skill that you are not telling us about ;)
As for the fast car comments, its all relative.
