Yeah, I'm still waiting on my documents coming through at the moment. I know some companies have s**t cancellation terms, but I know that legally theres something about a "cooling off period" in the first 14 days but I wanted to check exactly what those terms are as I'm not sure the guy was...
Does anyone know much about your right to cancel insurance in the first 14 days of the policy? As far as I was aware you can cancel it for pretty much any reason in the first 14 days and you can get a full refund minus an admin fee? But I've just asked my insurance company and they claim thats...
As chris says, its a B18C (or it should be unless someone has changed it, lol) afaik only UK and other euro tegs came with the B18C6. Tbh I'm not missing the torque too much, the hybrid had a load of power low down and I was worried I would miss it but I'm more than happy with the way the teg...
Cheers folks, as I say I'm well pleased with it :D (so far anyway, lol)
Maybe we shouldn't go into insurance....... only kidding, was £850 TPFT for a year, which was about 250 more than the clio, so not too bad imo. I'm 21, 2 years NCB. Seriously think I'm going to pay an extra few hundred...
Cheers, bodywork on it is very clean.
I'm the total opposite about UK and JDM tbh, really don't like the front end of the UK ones but absolutely love the JDM ones.
I picked up the replacement for the hybrid yesterday. Was a round trip of about 500 miles but well, well worth it. The pics are from the for sale advert of it, will get some of my own up asap. Quick spec is:
1996 Integra Type R (Jap Import)
68,000 miles
Standard apart from mugen twinloop...
Also, I think a big factor is who you are insured with and if you have any mods already declared. If you are with a company which deals with a lot of modified cars or you have declared some already they are probably more likely to look for these things.
Head gasket should no way cost you £500 on that! Depends if you just want rid of it anyway but I would definately get a few quotes. What engine is it 1.2 energy? or is it the other 1.2 that came in the Mk1 Ph3?
Either way it shouldn't be that bad a job. If you want rid of it try putting it...
As 172Ben said really. A decat in itself is not illegal. Basically there are two stipulations in the guidelines for cars:
Cars must be fitted with a CAT from the factory
Cars must pass the emissions set for that carWhilst a car has to come with a CAT from the factory it does not need to keep...
A decat does not invalidate your insurance as long as it is declared (could argue that it is included in the decleration as a "non-standard exhaust system"). A decat in itself is not illegal.
One key question - do you insurance company know your a member on Cliosport? or do you have cliosport stickers in the window?
The reason I ask that is that its worth bearing in mind some insurers will look through your forum activity at times if you have an accident so could easily come...
Thanks. As biohzrd linked to I sell these kits so if you are interested in a set I'll drop you a PM tomorrow with details of price etc. As I have said in that thread I had to stall the business for a few months but as of tomorrow kits will be back up for sale! All my kits come with a 12 month...
nice one! Out of curiosity and my lazyness to find any MX5 clubs, do you have any idea of the sort of costs involved in the conversion kits? I would be doing as much as posisble myself so just interested in the purchase price tbh as that would make or break how much of a possibility this might be.
ok, if you do decide to sell in the very near future give me a shout. I would have to look into the costs of turboing/charging it though as I believe its quite common on these? Really don't want to drop to anything much slower than the hybrid but really like these for some reason.
How much would you be after for the MX5? also what are the specs of it in terms of engine and power output?
I'm looking to change car very very soon and one of these is a definite possibility, but think I would need to do some engine work to get one with the sort of power output I would be...
Gutted to see this - glad you found out who it was though!
If it goes through the insurance I think you may have to pay your excess at first but you would then get it back once everything comes through from the other guys insurance. Not entirely sure if thats the case with him admitting...
Spotted you earlier on coming up from Colinton Village to the gillespie cross roads as I was driving down. I was driving the mondeo though so you wouldn't have seen me and I didn't realise it was you till the last minute so didn't flash or anything.
The lights look good btw ;) .
I've had 3:
Mk1 1.4 RT
Mk1 1.8 16v
Mk1 2.0 16v (current car)
Tbh I can't see myself owning anymore unless I get a turbo'd/ITB'd Mk1 or a Mk2 V6 at some point.
If you look in the group buy thread this was being discussed yesterday. I can't tell you exactly what needs done as I am unsure as to the setup used on the Mk2 Ph2 clio but if you have a read of the group buy thread it should hopefully help you out.
If not then drop me a PM and I'll try and...
You could always pop some in your Full Beam as well
Seriously though, really liking the car - a lot of nice touches have gone into it. :approve:
PM'd you chambo88.
As said above its worth paying a little extra for a good quality kit imo. With most of the cheaper ebay items they are generally poor quality and their warranty is worthless as you normally have to send parts back to china or somewhere else overseas making any claim...
He bought them from me (www.hid-lighting.co.uk) in the Group Buy I arranged over the last few weeks. I have quite a few kits in stock at the moment so if you are interested just drop me a PM and I'll give you some details.
All my kits come with a fitting guide as to the fitting of the...
It depends what you are after tbh. If you use your car as a weekend toy or something that you can live without every now and then I would say go for the williams, if you need it to be 100% guaranteed to work OK day in day out you would probably be better with the cup.
As some have said the...
With regards 0-60 times you have to remember that a williams has to go into 3rd gear to hit 60mph. If this wasn't the case it would hit 60 a lot quicker than a 106 GTi.
