Try this, Get a multimeter and set to volts and attach across your battery the next time this happens. Now get someone to attempt to operate the starter. If the volts drop from say 13 odd to below 12 or any obvious signs that a current is being drawn, ie headlights diming when starter...

I spray a wee bit and have a few tips, do loads cause it takes practise (you will get progressively better), and spray in warm dry conditions only. Also dont mix differing types of coatings as you will get reactions. But its basically practise Alex M (alexmac)

Also if you are going to spray it, use plastic primer first of all, as it makes a aworld of difference to the finished result, and will help to stop it cracking Alex M
