You all forget the personel aspect, some people are just liabilities in differing cars, just the same as some people prefer differing handling characteristics. People new to powerful RWD always end up getting into trouble at some point. FWD is more friendly, but I aint a fan of fronting out...
Dont know if anybody recalls me whining bout a clonking from front of my valver when going right. Rehung exhaust with new mounts and its fixed, over the bloody moon, car is now back feeling and driving like when I first got it. Getting pressured to flog it, and still might have to, but now I am...
Check the column bushes, as when they go they can give some strange feeling movements when you are driving. Had something similar with a reno 21 i used to have, worth having a wee check. Go under the dash and try move the column from side to side near where it goes through the bulkhead. Should...

Nah it normal for pressure to drop this low once oil is warmed up, as its viscosity drops so much, just make sure it produces the goodies when cold and when revs rise a little. Mine is almost off the guage from cold even when idling, but drops to a shade over 1 when hot. Pay more attension to...
My 16v is fond of spinning whens its wet, seems to be a trait.
In the wet I seriously rate Uniroyals, the have always specialised in quality wet tread patterns, and the are reasonable in the dry and not too expensive.

Err feel silly but I think it looks nice, the grille is definetly a bit fussy, but the rest looks cool. I take it I am in the minority, but never mind

Until I bought my 16v, it seems like every car I had before was a project/shed, where I stay there are miles of rough road (rally style) where we used to motor MOT failures (favourite was a RWD vauxhall chevette, which had a 2ltr pinto stuck in it). Rolled my first car off road at 14, had my...
I have considered flogging my M-Plate for a while and thought it was worth 3k after a bit of looking at prices. So you could get a clean 95 model if you look hard and took your time.

I Disagree ,I just feel the original ones are ,even from new, a bit soft, would be good if you could obtain uprated versions of all three mounts.

Would really love to go, but it just to far a trek for me from Scottish Isles. However when I move back to mainland I will definetly make the effort, itching to have a go on a track.

Am I the only person who believes original valver engine and gearbox mounts are just a bit crap. Even with new ones fitted there seems to be too much movement and my car is essentially standard. Fine for normal plodding about, but when they are pushed (caris getting a thrash) I feel they arent...

Just ahead of you, I have an M plate valver with 81k on it. Since getting it a year and a bit ago with 69k the following is had to be done
New gearbox and engine mounts
New pads and discs front and rear
Water leaking from sunroof switch (although it seems to have stopped without...
