When I jacked up the near side all was well - BUT when I jacked up the off side (the side the noise is coming from) the wheel started spinning - mmm what do you think?? anyone.
I have fitted the spacers and the noise is still there - But it isn't rubbing I have discovered.
When I jacked the car up I left the engine running to warm it up a bit as I was going out.

I have purchased 6mm ones - It is very low, but the wheels are only 15" so should be fine. Just that I stiull can't work out were the rubbing noise is coming from on the offside front - but when I remove the wheel the inside of the tyre is a little shiney - which makes me think it may be rubbing...
Anyone put any on the front of a valver?
I have some on the back already and am going to put somne on the front to see if it gets rid of the rubbing noise but am a little worried that it will rub on the arch?
Well there was some rubbing on the inside of the tyre but that was the abs sensor cable which is now moved..? If it was rubbing on the strut is it possible to fit spacers on the front without it rubbing on the inner arch?
No it is def the offside as I have had too passengers agree with me - Is very strange.
Even the garage had a look at it and couldn't see anything wrong.
Over christmas I thought I has sorted it when I noticed that the ABS sensor cable was rubbing on the inside of the wheel so I have moved...
I do want a yellow / orange roll cage sticks out more eh!!
I may try painting a little bit with a brush first (somewhere you can't see easily) and see how it comes out as would be sooo much easier - any paint you guys recommend I try (orange or yellow)
mmm Could be that as got louder when I put new pads on - so may the discs are just rough or something - maybe it needs a good track day to wear them down a little hehe
Ok it is coming from the offside front wheels area - gets worse when I go round right hand corners - Garage has checked bearings, brakes, wishbones etc and all fine (now anyway lol) - noise still there - sounds a bit like ribbing or wind.. any ideas?
£235 with a christmas discount too - ouch.
Doesn't go through the dashboard that is why I got this one as didn't want to cut the dash - Has the side impact protection bars though for when I get my carbon fibre doors - which is all that counts hehe
God knows!
Adam, My pics are about W**k really but here they are anyway.
The supperting metal bits are welded in to the car and then the cage is bolted to them yes! But still a mission to remove it as all seats etc have to come out...
If I leave as it is will it rust or not..?
Also does...
Well it took the garage 4.5 hours to fit at £40 an hour labour + VAT - Cage was done at a 10% cliosport discount plus another 10% - Wasn't stupidly expensive but I did want one that didn't involve cutting the dash - plus the side bars are extras.
Mine are too I think matey - or maybe sparco ones actually - but they should come with the bolts in them already I think - I have a pic of the cage from the front so you can't really see it that well.
This one is the front you can just see the front side impact protection bars though:
This is...
On mine they are mounting onto the subframes matey - They usually come with a bolt already there so it is obvious though bit worried about it if yours don't..
You can just about see them on this pic... hope it helps you.
Got my roll cage fitted too - even harder to get out of now lol!
Ok I bought one of these other day - anyone know how to fit them lol - sounds silly but it doesn't come with anything apart from velcro straps but looking at the straps the would have to go all the way round the seat or something which doesn't sound right to me!
