Mite try the purple ffot option. I find the magic trees I have just dont last. Perhaps there is something I can but to clean and enhance the leather smell?? (Metallic Black?)
I didnt mean get insured on your parents policy and then you be the main driver i meant, get insure in your own name for wahtever quote, and put low risk drivers like your parents on to make it a bit cheaper, plus if they ever did need to borrow the car, the option is there!!
A lot of guys on here go with places like admiral and elephant that tend to give moderate quotes for young drivers. Give them a try, and put low risk drivers as yournamed drivers. You should get quote down to nearly £1000 i reckon
I like them, I dont honestly notice any loss in power except on very hot days, it seems a little more sluggish, but Im keen to fit some sort of temparature guage under the bonnet to see the heat change, and maybe make some sort of heat shield. All experimental for now!!
Love the noise too!!
I have RA2, cant fault it. You can even add your own camera sites if for example a temporary camera has just gone up near you. Plus the Blue and Red back light looks smart. You will need an additional antenna as the heat reflectve windscreen on the clios tends to block the GPS signal.
Dont...
My mate just had whole steering wheel replaced because grips were coming off. got in done on warranty its a 52 plate with 31 k miles. Warranty runs out in September so he just got in there!
Thanks mate, Ill give them a call. I wouldnt mind trying to rig up a thermometer in the engine bay to see how hot it gets under thier (i.e to see if the induction kit gets affected). Then if I fitted heat shielding I like to see the difference it made.
Any other materials I could use?
What is the best material that should be used to shield heat from the engine to say an induction kit or to keep other areas of the car away from the heat of the engine?
What about aluminium or carbon shielding?
Any comments welcome
Yeah it is a small world. I know JONGSR4 from school, but never really spoke. Will def have to meet up. I dont do it often, but one evening or one Saturday afternoon when nirther of you are working we should arrange a meet up. Im sure Ive probably seen you around.
Chat to Jon about a meet up...
Yeah thats right mate. Went on Piston heads meet early the other Sunday. There were some nice TVRs. Yeah the K&N certainly makes a difference to the sound of the car. What you drive adamf?
It must work because only when HU is on it sends power to amp (like a switch) Another option I suppose.
I did the same thing in the birds Cooper S because to get the HU out of one of those is a joke. 4 screws then the cup holders. Too much like hard work so I went for the aerial...
Works for me!
When the HU is switched on it sends power to the aerial. Just by the aerial stump is a connector which you can take the remote power from.
Different I know but it works!!
Good luck sandshrew. I meant to say in last message, it isnt easy to reach into roof because of lining. I just did it because it was at back of car where I fitted my sub. So saved me feeding remote wire from HU to the boot
I took remote wire by reaching under roof lining to aerial stump. Its easy as you crease roof lining on. Not sure what model clio you have but mine is 182 so aerial is at back of roof.
Failing that take wire from headunit
I dont think there is any harm in the 95 stuff. But I myself find the car ticks over roughly on the 95, compared to 97 or 98. Ive considered putting in redex (injection) or STP stuff is sold. Anyone tried any of these fuel additives as a one off??
Do a search, i put a post on the site about a week or so ago. I thought it looked like it was crying! Sad arent we!
Guy said to me there is a metal ball/valve that stops water coming out, but sometimes this fails. Mine seems to have stopped now the hot weather has passed! Im just gonna get it...
Doesnt fit easily, as the 182 doesnt have spare wheel hence pipes run straight to back, where as 172 does, so I think some pipe relocation is needed. As you say it has been spoken about before. Search about a month back or so.
James,
yeah try and get pics up when you can. So are all your air scoops underneath the bumper like an induction pipe? My worry is the same about water and it scooping it into engine bay.
Anyone on here got photo of induction scoop and pipework? Does the scoop just fit straight over normal...
