Bainesybob.... If your paying someone to do this work I would advise you to have about 5k spare not including mapping, just parts and labour.

You could also say, fit exhaust/filter and bin the cat where does the extra power come from? You are looking at it wrong ;-) ever been told that running your air-con uses more fuel and effects your mpg?

Jack the front of your car up and grab it top and bottom then left and right and check for play, I suggest not driving it until you have done so, the last time when you changed disks and it sorted it I imagine would have been juddering under braking and you had warped disks
