Re: Road/Track 172 If you could email it to me that would be great, Im not sure if Sitech has started the mapping or not yet, have to say though the base map from Omex started from cold brilliantly and drove fine but kept it under 3K on the way to dropping the car off. Not sure if im going to...

What as it ? Just seen your post and it sounds similar to the problem I had , unfortunatley mine turned out to be a damaged ecu which required a new processor board.

Re: Road/Track 172 I left the dash fed as normal all the unused wires from my old loom are cut back behind the gearbox , individually shrink wrapped then wrapped in a bunch and tucked back into the loom trunking. I made up a beige for the fuel pump fuse to power the 12v trigger for the ecu...

Re: Road/Track 172 Yip omex told me I would need to run a 12v feed and the aux2 to the cam plug as its a switched ground, justnow I'm still using the standard ecu for this as didn't know if the switch points were set in the map and ran out of time. I have run the wiring from the omex aswell so...

Re: Road/Track 172 They were on the car when I bought it but they were from the group buy on here a few years ago, fairly poor fit to be honest. Morgan the wiring is all plug and play bar you need to run an extra live feed in for the cam switch over and need to change the plug on the original...

Re: Road/Track 172 I got the ecu back from Omex this morning after a super quick 24 hr turnaround, to refit ignition amplifiers and change the processor that got blown due to them being removed. Plugged the ecu in and the car fired first time, Iv balanced the bodies as best as I could without a...

    Omex no spark

The guy I bought the ecu off is paying for it as when he sold me the ecu he never knew his tuner had modified it, so I really don't have a clue but from what he said its only a 5 min job to re install the amps.

Re: Road/Track 172 Yip you will need it to re torque the pulley bolts but you can get a shot of mine when you go to do belts and cams. After seeing the pics of your dash yesterday I also fitted a centre console, I'm going to give the car a wash tomorrow so will get some better pics then.

Re: Road/Track 172 Still no luck with the ecu so its going to Omex in the morning, we even tried wiring in coil on plug pencil coils today as it was set up to run this style on a Vag engine with no luck. I did however get the cams, timing belt kit and aux belt fitted :approve: I have to say i...

    Omex no spark

I tried pencil coils today wired as shown in the omex manual for wasted spark purely because they cost £5 from the breakers 5 min from my house, unfortunately this did not work either so the ecu is going ot Omex in the morning for a health check and ot have ignition amps re installed.

    Omex no spark

Just had a look about on the net and seen that a few people have done this on omex and ran it as wasted spark coil on plug, if I was to try this with scenic pencil coils would it just be 12 v from the coil plug pin 3 to each coil then pair cylinders 1 /4 and 2/3 to the relevant earth pins on...

    Omex no spark

Thanks for the info guys but think I will just wait and send the ecu to Omex if needed rather than chopping plugs and adapting a new loom. Ive made a start on fitting the cams and timing belt in the mean time.

    Omex no spark

Well after lots of head scratching ,testing and finaly a phone call to the guy I bought the ecu off of I looks like we have got a problem :banghead:, the previous owners tuner had removed the ignition amplifiers as it was running coil on plug . He is checking to see if he has them still...

    Omex no spark

That's my plans for the morning Chip pull and clean the plugs again then check for a spark while it can crank over fast, then plugs back in and hook up a set of jump leads so hopefully get a good/ stable voltage while cranking. If still no luck I might just do the belts and cams and trailer it...
