I'm not entirely comfortable with it yet, but I've got a scratch on mine to do.
I've done a few stone chips etc which were all pretty much flawless.
You had a go? Don't do it without a PDG... the Mirka pads from Polished Bliss are the best option IMO
They are marketed at trade buyers and not general retail, where generally speaking a car will be sanded before polishing to finish - so ignore that.
Which machine polisher are you looking at? Will you be polishing that RB car in your avatar?
It's stacked with fillers IIRC - you cannot remove swirls without an abrasive of some kind, nothing is that 'smart'.
Sounds like a clued up fella. Thing is, most people would buy his bullsh*t
As above, needs lowering.
I do hope you're not the tool who tried to 'have me' off the lights - was a 56 plate Campus in Black. Was by Cineworld in Bentley Bridge about a month ago.
FAIL.
I'm sure you're not :)
There is evidence to suggest that multiple layers of SRP helps to mask swirls, but I don't personally think it's worth the effort.
As stated, get some more #16 on and you're sorted, should see you through to Feb/Mar.
Looks mint :)
The Menzerna pads are the 'best' at cutting via DA, but they tend to be quite brittle, so if you work them a too hard, they will start to break up on you.
As such, I'd recommend Menz compounds and Sonus Pads for a beginner.
Autosol is okay for removing crap that's been there a while, but I'm not keen myself.
You should consider sealing the exhausts after you have finished. Look at the Britemax twins from I4D... ;)
What's your budget?
Presumably you want good durability over winter? What do you already have?
As above, VAG paint is generally (but not always, so don't assume this!) quite hard. If you don't have a Rotary, you will struggle.
I don't car about the car being dirty, the problem for me is the apparentness of swirls, stone chips and minor scuffs, which depending on the hardness of the paint, can be a REAL pain.
If you don't care about swirling etc, then get a black/darker coloured car. That said, red is just as bad...
As long as you use the correct paint, then using the process shown on DW is near flawless, irrespective of how good you think you 'eye' is.
The paint is the SAME, and assuming the person doing it has some skill, you won't see them at all.
Much cheaper than getting a respray, which at times is...
All of the Dodo's are pretty poor reliability wise, with the exception of the newer 'Pro' stuff, which isn't a 'proper' wax anymore, but more of a hybrid, blended with elements found in their Red Mist 'spray sealant'.
The only 'normal' waxes which seem to last are Megs #16 and the higher end...
There's some epic spelling in this thread.
Fact is, if you're into gaming, you need both. AAAE's make it so.
Stop being a tight fisted fanboy and buy both, it's only £200 or whatever.
The only annoying thing with the 360 is the NOISE of the thing. They really need to sort that out. I...
