    Clio Cup 200 @ Nordschleife

Amazing driving - thanks for sharing. You're lucky there wasn't a Vectra Diesel there....

Does the 197 go for a... Diesel?

Things have changed at work and I'll be on a car share from December - so 4k per annum. This means R26 :)

Does the 197 go for a... Diesel?

£2k a year saving on fuel plus £200 or so on insurance Demon, would coilovers have helped?

Does the 197 go for a... Diesel?

Indeed, but the Megane is supposed to be the least boring of a bad bunch... I'd never have an A3/Golf/Octavia. The Leon FR is okay at a push, but even that is a bit dodgy and dull.

Does the 197 go for a... Diesel?

Yes, you can get Ultra Blue with a Cup Pack, and the decals were an option too.

Does the 197 go for a... Diesel?

I've had my 197 now for little over 6 months, and I've put 13k on the clock... at an average of about 28MPG. That's a lot of money spent on petrol. Now, logic would dictate that I should be chopping said car in for a Diesel, but I can't get over the fact that my car is so much fun to drive...

    Freshly detailed LY R27

Looks good Rich, I wish I'd have got LY or one of the lighter colours. BTW, applying Red Mist straight away dissolves the wax layer...

    Few quick pics - Silver EP3 Type-R with FK1000P

I spent a few hours a couple of weeks ago cleaning up a friends' brothers' Civic Type-R as a favour for a birthday gift. I was only giving the exterior some love, which was mostly in decent condition, having had the alloys recently refurb'd and the paint was in fair condition for its age and...

    T-Cut

Nope, you are right. Used properly, it serves its purpose. It is very aggressive though, so should be used with caution. I'd recommend paying a detailer to sort it for you instead.

    Chemical Guys Wet Mirror Finish

Well, Pete's 53 isn't massively durable on its own, so a good solid base like CG Blitz is a good move at this time of year, or switch the Pete's for something more durable like one of the Collinite's, or Megs #16. As you will discover, 90% of the 'looks' will come from polishing process - the...

    Chemical Guys Wet Mirror Finish

It's decent enough, but Blitz is better. What do you normally top BH with?

Dodo Juice Wookies Fist Wash Mitt

Give it a good comb when you get it - some people have found bit of wire in theirs! I had one, used it, wasn't impressed so it went. It's okay, but not worth £20. Feels like a gimmick.

    Good place to start?

Hi Mike, What are you using the Snow Foam with? EGP is good, but I'd personally switch it out for some Colli 845, which is quicker to apply, will bead better, and will last a little bit longer. Otherwise, that looks good to me. Russ.

...and I though being keyed was bad...

The night before, one of his 'friends' in an MG ZR 1.4 took a roundabout a little outside of his limit and nearly rammed me off the road. Happy times in Cannock!

I've been told I don't need to pay my excess as he has accepted liability and is with the same insurer :)

The bodyshop is 'UK Assistance' in Wednesbury... anyone know of any horror stories?
  21. RussZS

...and I though being keyed was bad...

I've gone with my insurer so far - they have waived my excess, have let me choose a bodyshop, and I am getting a Group F car of similar size and engine size... so it shouldn't be tooooo bad :)

...and I though being keyed was bad...

Thanks Warren, I'll give them a call tomorrow. Cheers Christopher. I'm really gutted. It'll probably go for an R26 now...

...and I though being keyed was bad...

Thanks Warren - can you recommend a specific one please? How do they work? The Hankook's are superb - people seem to snub them because they are 'cheap' but they are easily as good as the Conti's in the dry and better in the wet, and will probably last longer too!

...and I though being keyed was bad...

Yeah, the door has a massive crease in it which you can't see in the pics and the wing mirror is battered. The stickers alone cost over £100 which is also scratched to hell. Gotta be £2k's worth! Swirls.. indeed... gotta love soft as cheese black cars :)

...and I though being keyed was bad...

LOL, what's surprised me more is how badly hologramm'd the bottom looks from me wiping it over - bloody soft paint lol I just hope it gets sorted quickly :(

...and I though being keyed was bad...

I went to my friend's house tonight, parked outside their house in the street. 5 minutes later I hear an almighty bang and a car alarm going off... it sounded like mine. As I dashed to the window I saw a light blue Ka which has been reversed into my car from the driveway opposite. He then...

    Paint Correcting (General help req'd)

Depends on the experience levels though... the problem with someone who has just bought a G220, removed a swirl and then starts charging for their professional service, is that they normally have no clue of how much paint they are removing. As said before, you only have so much clear, so get...
