Apart from the whole keys out of the ignition bit which I thought was really unecessary.
What got me was that they had no real point to why they pulled me over. Im sure they were hoping for an excuse to search me or the car etc!!
The two lanes merge together, there is no line or anything. The Ford drive was just being a prick but since I was the one ahead and the one who caught the polices eye they picked on me.
I think they wanted some reason to check out wether I was trouble or not and could see I was perfectly...
Just heading back to my house driving through Purley and got pulled by the lovely (gay)boys in blue!!
Was coming down from the Purley Way and pulled into the lane behind them, music was a bit loud and I could see the driver looking in his rear view at me.
Pulled off at the lights and get...
Sounds like a 50/50 split that they either last very well or they break badly!!
Ive got a 172 on 13,500 miles and its feel pretty much as good as ever.
I get the impression though that it wouldnt stand up well to being heavily used.
Sometimes the dealers do surprise you with either really poor service or actually really good service.
I took mine in for its first service and they replaced the washer jets coz they were slightly clogged. They just told me once it was done, thought its showed some initiative.
Other time...
Seems a bit steep for something that looks, well a bit pants to be honest.
I dont know if anyone has seen the 172 Cup with the airbrushed silver/blue paint job and custom interior. Have been in Max Power etc. I could imaging that being bought for £15k but that actually looks good!! lol
I assume you guys who are changine pads with over 15k miles are just driving as normal! Not driving all delicate, judgine by that Ill leave my pads a bit longer.
I tend not to rag my car too much so I cant imagine they are gonna be that worn.
Well looking at all your mileages I dont think Im gonna need to change my pads.
As I said Renault indicated 50% worn when it was on 8500 miles so I was going on that wear rate that Id need to change on about 15,000 miles-ish.
Any definitive way of telling when they need changine, apart...
Its these morons that work at Renault that cause all the problems!!!
Wilsons in Epsom is renound for this kind of thing, a friend of mine took her car there and the guy who brought it round to her was absolutely ragging it. She had a go at him for driving like an idiot and ragging her motor...
Just wondered how many miles people get to a set of front pads.
My 172 has done just over 13,500 miles and Im thinking they should probably be changed. Were 50% worn when I got my first service at about 8500 miles.
What do you get from your brake pads?
Seen this kit and I reckon its probably one of the nicest kits for the 172!!!
Better than being a V6 replica but still gets the whol wide stance thing. Loving it.
I actually saw a review of an electronic fake dump valve!! lol I wouldnt have thought that your average chav pikey would be able to afford such a commodity!!!
Saw some lad the other day with a Citroen AX with the most ridiculously loud tail pipe, the most fetching 13" wheel trims and to cap...
I suppose people take the logic that silver alloys always suite a car so continue the theme.
I personally wouldnt do but done right it probably wouldnt be too bad.
I like the Clio V6 with silver air intakes!! ;)
Spotted the first Ford GT Ive seen on the road.
Was blue with white stripes and sounded incredible, even though it was only driving through the business park at about 20mph! lol
Lose the stupid spoiler and I dont think its too bad, shame to modify a valver though.
Surely if you were gonna take photos of the interior youd make it look clean and immaculate first!!!!!
My missus used to be like, oh youre on another bloody car forum when I first started using them.
Trouble is im on a few so Ive got plenty to browse through. lol
I have the same thing on my 172 but I put it down to the handbrake. I have to park it on my drive which is a slope so pull the handbrake on pretty tight.
My old Clio did the same buuuut my cars gonna have its first new set of brake pads soon so sounds like could be that.
£350 a month, foookin hell.
I put less than £100 in my 172 and even less when I start commuting next month.
Doesnt help what with the bloody fuel prices being so high :o
I got a 1.2 courtesy car Clio which was slooooow. I had a 1.2 before the 172 and although huge jump forward nothing like as much as going back to one.
They also gave me a 1.4 automatic Clio which was nippier but the gear changes were completely random, not a good auto at all.

A lot of the time the induction cones suck in more hot air so can lose power.
Some prefer to replace the standard panel filter in the airbox.
Ive got a green induction kit and although there is probably little or no power gain the sound it makes is incredibly satisfying. :D
Ill probably be taking it for a spin on at least a couple of work nights, then be using it as normal at the weekends.
Tell you what though, its already feels nicer to be driving it. Ive got about a month of driving to work left then thats it.
I hate f**kers like that who drive like they own the road. Whats the point in tailgating you when any reason for you to emergency stop means then wiping youre motor out.
The thing with people in cars is that they give it the big I am but wont ever follow it up outside the car.
Ive just got a new job!!! :D Which is in Liverpool St so now I wont be driving Clio as much, as Im commuting by train.
To be honest Im not phased as this means I can use my car purely for pleasure rather than wearing it out commuting to work.
Just wondered if anyone recommended any tips to...
