keep the cable throttle body go for a 172 phase1 engine and loom , it will be easy enough to integrate with the meganes dash and Abs/ airbag systems.
The imobiliser situation will be harder, you will need the decoder ring, key and Ecu from the phase one 172 to get it started. the Fuel pump will...
the uch replaces relays etc that work all the interior components such as heating and wipers.
the internal loom is different i would retro the old loom to the 172 and the 172's ecu. which 172 is the donor parts from and does your car have a cable throttle or electronic? also which megane is it...
what year megane is it?
the engine will physically fit but the electronics are different, the 172 loom can be used and the ease of this depends on the year of car
i fitted the 172 "twisted" type dogbone to my girlfriends 1.2 16v with the powerflex/ k-tec bushes. as far as i know the bushes wont fit in the stock steel mount as shown in your picture , but i never tried

will you be using a de-cat or normal cat?
the flange on the 182 mani is different where it meets the cat than it is on the 172 manifold so you need to fit a 182 cat or a decat pipe that is modified to fit the old middle section of the exhaust.
Fitting it entales removing the subframe which can...
ive wrapped my manifold it cost about £100 in wrap and locking strips and the manifold needs to be off the car to do a decent job, the clio's engine bay is very small so i doubt it keeps the bay temperatures down too much but it helps gas flow
Electric power steering started with mk2 phase 2 and some phase 1 low power clios. the new megane and clio also use electric power steering.
You could retro fit it all you need is the rack, computer and loom from a 1.2 clio i have a wiring diagram for this conversion if you want it(pm me if you do)
Take the oil breather plate of the top of the block and look for any marks on the cam lobes sure sign for oil starvation, if you taking it to garage im sure they will check things like this.
buy the rear disks from fred , they sell them with the bearing and ring on and they are renault ones. dont bother with anything fancy for the back, the back does feck all braking
