Delphi injector may need replacing - remove them and get them checked. A faulty injector will sound like your bottom end is knocking. This will occur when the nozel on the injector is constantly open or its throwing to much fuel into the engine.

To me it looks like the car is still in use as the tyres are inflated and the windscreen is clear. It wouldnt take much to turn a mint car into a dust covered mess in that area.

Ive got a cable operated throttle body off a mk1 172 ( polished chamber ) with new acc cable / cable mount and drilled metal acc pedal + bracket which you can fit to eradicate any potential problems with the unreliable mk2 172 FBW t/b. The kit is £65 if anyones interested.
