It won't sag if you do it properly. I just copied the way my old shelf was done at K&M accoustics, it looks the business and a don't remember any staples. Oh and spray the mdf black (looks tidy).

Your doing it wrong mate. you need a piece of mdf 18 - 22mm think. If you've already made the holes in the shelf, you need to line the holes up and cut them out of the mdf with a jigsaw cutter. use about 6 flat head screws to hold the mdf to the shelf. Order some accoustic carpet and mega strong...

what do you recommend then as a good 10" sub (not one that i'll have to rob a bank for)?

my set up sounds great but my sub was only £40. would i notice any great improvement splashing the cash on a dearer one?

seeing as we are talking about sound quality, i would like to ask what difference would i notice between a 10" boxed sub and a 12" boxed sub. If they were both the same power output and same power from the amp? cos i've got a 10" just wondering would changing make an difference?

Maybe if you tried a good set of 6x9's like cerwin vega's instead of the goodmans one's your mum got you for christmas, you might think more positive about them;)

I had my amp and sub etc installed by my mate at the weekend. It sounds great but the amp is still really set up for my old megane. I can't find the manual for the amp so i'm not sure which buttons to play with to tweek it. It's a Planet Audio amp, could anyone give me a few pointers please?:)

Every car i've had (106, megane and now clio) have had rattling sunroofs;( I hope whoever invented them met an unpleasant end. I think it's punishment for not being able to afford a better car.

rich i use nxt wax and it looks pretty good. i,ve got some zimol in the cupboard, so i was wondering what would happen if i applied a coat of zimol and then the tech wax to seal it? just an idea
