I didn't get back in touch with him, and he's messaged me tonight asking of I've found another car. I'd love to make a decision, but its 180 mile round trip. Worth offering him something? What do you guys think its worth if I've got to get the belts done?
Firstly, apologies for all the questions, all the ones I'm finding that may be a potential purchase are miles away, hence the reason I'm asking on here, thoughts on this...
I've seen this one on autotrader, advised belts done at 69k, with part service history, one key etc, honest opinion? The problem is its 2 hours away, bit of a mission to find out its no good!
I've been emailing a company regarding a 182, today.. the last question I asked:
Thanks for the info, I did notice damage on the rear quarter, do you have any photos of the service history, receipts etc?
The reply I received was simply: no we don't
Needless to say, they can keep the car!
Its going to be a daily driver, so ideally standard (with a the exhaust done, no worries if not as I'd seek to get it done, as I know the original would be due a replacement) I'm at an age and have the finances where I'll be able to run the car and look after it, rather then running it on a...
I think you're right, I'm really holding out for a decent black or blue one, but think I need to adjust my expectations on price? was hoping to find a good'un for about £2.2, but its looking more like 3k realistically, for one thats been cared for and had a replaced exhaust etc.
Yeah, didn't even notice that!
If anyone could shed any light on it that would be great, the guy whos been emailing me has gone silent after emailing the photos of the damage and asking he he had any photos of the service history, receipts etc
There's a arctic blue 182, about 100 miles from me, the chap on the phone advised its had cams/ water pump done recently, comes with part service history, anyone know if its history...
Mine doesnt quite stretch to that right now, however I'm due to start a new job in the next month or so, so tempted to hold out.
Yeah, I did see that posted up, it looks a pretty good deal in all honesty. Value your advice about not just diving in on the first one you see. Its been five years...
Ahh, now you see, these kind of photos do it justice!
I think its just because I'm so used to seeing clio campus 1.2 floating around in a similar shade. I suppose the fairest thing to do is go and see one :)
I'm checking on a daily basis, I need to to sign up as a member but will do that towards the end of the week. I'd rather look to get one off here, where people might know its history, buying a second hand car is a gamble as it is, the fact I'm looking to buy a car thats now around 9 years old...
Yeah, I thought that, so might be a wasted journey..
Just for future reference, how can you tell, obviously its easier to see in the flesh rather than a poor quality photo
I'll be going with my brother in law who owned a 172, we already went to see one, that was in a bad state. I've been...
Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I'm keen to look after what ever I grab, I'm now in a position where I can hopefully afford to properly maintain a car without running it on a shoe string budget.
I've been on the hunt for a 182 over the last few weeks, as a few of you have maybe seen on my posts. There's one relatively close to me, with 66k on the clock.
He's already advised me that he doesn't know when cams/pulleys were done, and its got aftermarket alloys on, and tax is due..
He's...
