I used mainly a squeegee to remove the majority of the water,
Yeah, I thought that once I'd finished
how long for would you say? I followed the instructions on the bottle and left it for 20-30 minutes before buffing off.
Thanks, I'm aware there are lots of products out there, but I'm on a bit of a budget currently so went with autoglym from halfrauds
Rinse,
2 bucket method with micro fibre mitt,
rinse,
claybar all over,
rinse,
chamois,
autoglym super resin polish, left to cure for 20 minutes,
electric buffed...
The weather conditions were perfect for a good ol' detailing session, so after 3/4 hours, and sore hands and arms my BG is looking something like this!
I still need some new plates, thinking 3/4 on the front. People keep suggesting the 197RS badge, but I can only find them for £40 odd, which...
It's been well over 4 years since I've owned a vehicle I actually want to spend some timing cleaning, polishing and protecting... I also lived in a 3rd floor apartment in the city with no outside tap!
I've recently picked up a 182 BG, and keen to get it cleaned up and looking good for the...
Sorry for the bump, but I've just fitted some of these and must say they look great, and crazy bright too!
only a phone image, but you can appreciate them I reckon. and for less than £6.00! photo is 501 sidelights only.
My sentiments exactly.. Borrowed some cash for mine, so can't afford anything till I've paid of my debts! So a day after a wash, looks like I never bothered.
Thanks Gaz, value everyones feedback. It is quite noisy when warm, but understand the timing belt and aux belt were done june '11, 18-19k ago. Reckon' I should hold out till I can afford to get the lot done?
Super, thanks for the information, you've been most helpful. The car is driving lovely and the MPG is increasing (usually cruise control to work on the A50) so just a case of saving up and getting it done when I can afford to. Anything else to think about?
I'm stuck in financially limbo for the next 2 months.. Which worries me a bit eek, the car is in great condition but the dephaser is a ticking time bomb?
Thanks Mick, thanks for letting us know, worth doing the water pump while its all out? Bit of a shame really, as the belts were done in the middle of 2011, only 18k ago according to the service history.
Thanks for the tip regarding the local specialist! Its not crazy loud, so should be ok for a while.. I've not got anything to compare it with so not overly maybe Andyy could give us his input?
Any ideas in terms of the costs for this, just so I know what to aim for.
Great, just comparing notes! yeah I noted everything you've mentioned so glad you said what you did. I'm just getting my head round this whole de-phaser scenario, will it be ok to drive for a while till I've got the cash to get it done, due to the nature of the change, I'll just get the cam/aux...
I have done so far!
Thanks :)
I'm planning on getting some new plates, as the garage that fitted the plates obviously cannot measure and so its currently buckled up on the back. What are the purpose of the washers for the headlights? I know the washers actually still work!
I also need to...
After hassling on here for peoples advice and opinions I've finally got my hands on a 182, I bought it from STRBramley off here on Saturday morning.
It was pretty dusty when I picked it up, so given it some TLC today
I'll likely refurb the headlights, and get some pressed plates for it, not much else needs doing to it.
I noticed there was a MOT on the 03/09, was all the emission failures due to the decat?
I'll message him tomorrow to find out more information, the advert shows this image:
So I was wondering if anyone recognised the number plate: CW05 EDR? as they must of been on here at some point?
