Thanks Gaz, value everyones feedback. It is quite noisy when warm, but understand the timing belt and aux belt were done june '11, 18-19k ago. Reckon' I should hold out till I can afford to get the lot done?

The receipt says "replace timing belt and auxiliary belt" and parts: "GKT3507XS Belt Kit & GMV61663 Automotive Belt" so not too sure.

MicKPM, are you aware of a dephaser being noisey after 18k? or could be it was never replaced when the timing belt was done?

Thanks Mick, thanks for letting us know, worth doing the water pump while its all out? Bit of a shame really, as the belts were done in the middle of 2011, only 18k ago according to the service history.

Thanks for the tip regarding the local specialist! Its not crazy loud, so should be ok for a while.. I've not got anything to compare it with so not overly maybe Andyy could give us his input? Any ideas in terms of the costs for this, just so I know what to aim for.

After hassling on here for peoples advice and opinions I've finally got my hands on a 182, I bought it from STRBramley off here on Saturday morning. It was pretty dusty when I picked it up, so given it some TLC today
